Default The Haiti Earthquake a Punishment from God?

I read an article online yesterday and the writer said in the article that God punished Haiti with that powerful earthquake that killed about 300000 people last year. According to the writer, almost all Haitians including Haitian Christians do believe in and take part in some voodoo rituals because they consider voodoo part of their culture but voodoo according to the writer goes against Christianity and it is possible God punished Haitian people with that powerful earthquake. I know God punished the idol worshipers in Noah's time with the great flood that destroyed everything on earth except those in Noah's Ark. God also destroyed the entire cities of Sodom and Gomorrah due to homosexuality and other abominable sins. God punished the wicked Egyptian Pharaoh and his people with great calamities including the death of their first born sons. Through out the Bible God punished several evil people with several calamities including drought, famine, and diseases. If so, then what the writer was saying is possible. It is possible that God punished Haiti with that powerful earthquake. I saw the death of a reverend father who was on a missionary duty in Haiti. The reverend father together with some Christians died in the Haiti Earthquake. The question I asked myself is why did God punish the good people together with the bad people and the voodoo worshipers? Even if God did not cause that earthquake, God has the power to stop all evil so God could have stopped the earthquake from happening in the first place and could have saved His children from death but God did not stop that earthquake and God allowed his beloved children to die just like that.

Not just adults but also innocent children including toddlers and little babies who knew nothing at all. God could have saved those innocent babies who knew no sin but God did not save them. Although we are all sinners God still loves us and we are all children of God but God allowed His tiny little children who knew no sin at all to suffer and die just like that.
Now what do you think? Was the Haiti earthquake a punishment from God?

Marvel not at this: the hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. They shall come forth and they that have done good unto the resurrection of life. They that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation.

Now Kofi that is how it is going to be. For now life is just a trial, nothing more. Weather a person dies at a very young or very old age is only good or evil in the opinion of man. When Job suffered almost to the brink of death it was to prove him in the eyes of the devil and of God. When these little children suffered and died and when these christians and reverend father died their trial in life was over. The important part will soon come for them. The judgement of weather their works were good or evil. They will not be judged on their religion. They will not be judged on their position in life as a reverend father or how old or young they were. Good or evil is the judgement. Were you good? Fine! Were you evil? Not Good! Were you evil, repented and overcame evil? That is good! Jesus will judge. It will be on good or evil.

You will be judged on your actions whether good or evil. So what really is happening is that one judges himself while he is alive. That is why you are given free will. You can decide weather you will do good or do evil. It is a matter of personal choice for each and every living soul on earth. I will or I will not. If I have done evil at one point in my life and repent and overcome that evil that is the point God sheds His mercy and forgiveness on me. Man has no excuse for being evil.

So kofi is the Haiti Earthquake a Punishment from God? I don't know that but I'll tell you what I do know. There are 300000 people who's time has expired and will hear the voice of God to determine the fruit of their life stile. Good or evil. Did you accept Jesus as your personal saviour? Did you belong to the true religion? What did you believe? What was your doctrine? All these things are the important things of religion. Good or evil is what is important to God and that is the final exam.

The earthquake a punishment? The earthquake is the final call to the judgement seat of God. The good to life: the evil to damnation.

For the good folks what could be better? This temporary life of suffering and trials or, death of this body and receive a body of eternal life? Of course if you go the other way it's not so good.

Just remember there are two sides to everything. The earthquake could be a blessing to some and a punishment to others. A quick trip to eternal life or a fast track to damnation.

Cool Re: The Haiti Earthquake a Punishment from God?

Maybe God just did it for his own amusement... No, that's not it... God can't control such powers... It was the earth itself... and it was not some kind of punishment....
