OK, Barry could have won the hearts of the American people and even around the world for that matter. But what is left right now is how he would accomplish and fulfill all he said on his many great speeches during the campaign period. Let us just hope that he would do what he had said.

Of course, I have been for Barack Obama from the very start. He made a very resounding history of being elected as the first black president of the great country USA. Since last year, I have been following his path towards the nomination of the Democratic Party against his main rival, the former First Lady and current Senator Hillary Clinton. Although Hillary was already favored to eventually get the nomination, her camp never anticipated the rising star of Barack Obama. And as history goes, he wrestled the nomination away from her. It was a long and grueling campaign from the very start.
During the general election campaign where Barack Obama was pitted against the old John McCain, there had been so many false accusations floated around. He was accused to be a terrorist or at least palling with the terrorist. He was a socialist or a Marxist. He was called a Muslim by ill-informed quarters who does not want to see his victory. He was even called as a possible Anti-Christ. But at the end, the people have spoken. he won the presidency by an Electoral College landslide. Now, we are looking forward for the next four years of Obama presidency. May the tide of change be able to help all of us and the whole world. |

Actually i didn't vote for him (probably because i am not living in the United
States of America). But i think he can handle this job. I prefer him to McCain (How am I supposed to write that name?) because he belongs to the republican political party. Obama supports Israel and this is the most important thing for me. |

Yes...I do like the new President.
He is actually a very right man for the right job..and at the right time !!!! He is known to be a very reasonable and the same time passionate man. He loves challenges and tries hard to overcome them. This is seen from the fact that he chose to make life in politics inspite of an MBA degree and good from large companies in his earlier days.... Why right time....? Well...the present president has completely messed up in both internal as well external politics...His statement to the world.." If you are not with America....You are against America" has not gone down well with most of the world leaders....Instead of pursuasive politics, he played very aggressive and has tarnished the image of America....Hence the new President has to just play a good balanced role.....and he would be PERFECT PRESIDENT in everybody's eyes. Regards, Walker |

I do like him from what I have seen from the campaign and what I read in his book "Audacity of hope". He was a symbol of calm and intelligent leadership all through the campaign. Now when it comes to governing the country, we will have to wait and watch to know how he is going to handle the world economic recession and other problems coming his way.

Its not about liking him anymore. He is the President Elect, and I'm sure he will live up to the US Presidency. He is a great leader, an effective speaker, and is probably the best man to lead America right now.
But being an Indian, I would obviously voice my concerns... Outsourcing will be cut, good for Americans, but bad for us. Moreover, Obama did not even spare a call to our Prime Minister the day when he set out to buzz all major world leaders... All but one, India.. I hope not, that this a sign of things to come. |

heard that he is going to increase tax on the companies that outsource their jobs..... by a huge bit, that will make the companies compare their profit/operational expenses through outsourcing to that of the excess tax they would pay to the US government., whereas the tax paid by the companies not outsourcing their jobs would be much less comparatively.......this will have a very shocking eventual impact on the major chuck of Indian economy....... Indian S/w firms might see in a decline of projects., affect on the BPO industry and IT enabled services.......!!!!
Not a real good news for many if this will happen i wont like him |

Change has definitely come to America and in a way to the world. Obama is not just the first black president of USA but a ray of hope to millions around the world that the change is here. The world today is torn by its own beliefs and Obama stands out of this complex rigidity as a Knight in shining Armour. Things have definitely changed and they will never be the same.

I love Africa
|
I like Barack Obama for the fact that I believe he can do it and even do it better. I also like him because he is an African and I hope he doesn't forget about home. Home is home and Obama cannot change the fact that his ancestors are from Africa and hence he must be ready to help those at home. We all prayed for him because we believe that he will put Africa second on his agenda. America will be first on the agenda because it is good to put America first not forgetting that Americans voted for him. We just hope he remembers Africa.

honestly I don't trust Barack Obama. He speaks too much. What America needs right now is not great speeches but great actions. We need an experienced president who can put our country first in these hard times. Obama to me just wants to be called "Mr. President". He wants to be remembered as the first black President of the United States. He just wants to be famous and powerful and that's it. Obama has no experience and I doubt!

Yes he indeed has brought with him several things which have pioneered in US history... like he is the first black to rule them and being elected by the whites themselves... he also proposes to keep in touch through the nation through his phone and wants a laptop in his office as the papers today reported... he certainly wants to bring in a change which should be welcomed by one and all

Barack Obama is not yet the President of the United States of America. He is just the president elect and he has not yet been sworn into office. He may become the president of the United states somewhere January 20th next year, 2009. If he does become the president of the United States then we can begin judging him from day one. As at now he is considered as a good orator who has been able to win the hearts of many Americans with convincing words and good promises but we depend upon "hope" at this time in history. let us just "hope" that the "yes we can" remains "yes we can" because America cannot afford "No we can't" at this time in history.

just a couple of weeks ago i had great hopes in Obama but the hope in Obama is fading away why because Obama is asking for too much help. There are somethings are expected Obama to be straight forward on but He seems not knowing or may be unsure or something of that sort. He is not yet president.. but let's wait and see..

I definitely like Mr President Obama. He is going to be the leader with some traits to reckon with. Gone are those days when elections used to be won on popularity basis. The change america and the world needs is here.
The making of mr. president reveals another side of him that will make him a good leader. Right from a boy to a man has had to race for his racial identity, which poignantly yet fruitfully has awaken america to the truth. The change is here and ready to roll. Cheers for the new face of equality Mr.Obama |
