Corruption, for me, is one of the worst evils that we have to face everyday. I wonder if they still have a conscience? Can they still sleep soundly at night knowing that they are causing their fellowmen a lot of misery? It's sad, and it makes me mad. I hope there is still something that can be done about it.

I think this is a world wide problem and is far being able to stop. With my government I know they are too busy with there hand out and not doing anything about there citizens. I hope that this can change, but BIG Company have taken over and the government has sat back and allowed it to happen. I have seen companies bailed out by my government for making bad business decisions, but if it were me who made the wrong choice they would simply say it my own fault for playing risky in business.

Guys it is the big players behind the scenes that are making this corruption level go on, why do you think wars are started? GREED. Greed is the reason people do things on a day to day basis, some people let their greed run their lives and therefore making corruption easier. So no matter which government you think is corrupt there is always another player behind the scenes moving the chess piece. Think of it like this, if you have a guy moving a positive magnet towards another positive magnet then you an control what it does. Now if you stick a piece of paper between it the magnet appears to be moving by itself. The human mind can be tricked very easily and yet no one likes to admit defeat, instead we come up with ways to try and prove things that aren't real!

anybody who has GREED on his vein's does not need to be in the government to be corrupt. why most politicians are corrupt! if you cant buy a vote you will not win the elections. if you win the election the second question is, how will you gain the money you funded on your election campaign? you will get government contracts, projects and give it to people that can MILK those projects an give you percentage or cut in every cent made so you can recover your lost money. NO self respecting businessman will put an investment he wont gain profit! The More Money you invest the more greedier you'll be. |

It saddens me everytime I hear about government corruption. I am living in a country where most of the people run to have a position in the government for the reason of the money they can get and not for serving the people who are paying their taxes.
Corruption really depends on the person in position. A change in the heart of the person is I think the best way to fight against corruption. |

My friend, you are in for a BIG surprise. Open your eyes; every country that has more than 1 person in it is corrupt. Greed doesn't care what race, sex, or religion you are. Every country has been corrupt since pretty much the beginning of its history. But it is now getting to the point where the people are slowly starting to take notice. |

Corruption is the main enemy of any country, developed or underdeveloped, first world or third world. My country is facing the same problem as keeper's country. There are many corrupted government officials who get funds like ten times more than the actual costs of their projects. The extra money goes into their pockets and shared with their corrupted 'business' partners. Basically they work together to suck up profits from government projects while people think they are doing their job. What a shame!

Talking about India.
If the central government gives 10 million to poor people to the people in some village in xyz state then by the time that money comes to people in whole they will have 10,000 bugs left to given away. remaining all are eaten up by the government.

Its the same in our country too...All the government officials here are to make money and they don't do their job at time or it is left unattended unless they are paid for it... corruption is at the peak here.. they earn more than around 20 times their salary in a month.. And also they call for strikes whenever they want to..

In our country presidential candidates spends millions of dollars just to campaign and win the hearts of the people to vote for him/her and be the next president, but believe it or not being the monthly salary of a President in our country is only around $1,250.00 a month. You know why, because in our country being a president means might, power and you control everything in the government. You will earn kickbacks on every project the government implements. So much money to spend just to be in a position that earns minimal, huh!

Corruption is not new, nowadays, and it's really rampant. There could probably no country without these corrupt leaders in the position. In my country, they even do it en flagrant, at the cost of all the populace, without second thought! Even if they're caught, once issue dies down, they get away with it. It's really a shame, and all of us are suffering from it.

Corruption does exist in my country too. The canker rears its ugly head everywhere- only the form changes. While in some countries, one may need to grease officials' palms to get irregular work done, in others, the extra dough proffered to workers might do the trick if one wishes to bypass long queues and procedural delays to get his work done- "Oiling the wheels to get the cart moving"!

There's not much corruption in my country. Reason being? Because our leaders are being paid very highly, so there's not much reason for them to be corrupted since they are already being paid so high.
Facts "Our prime minister's salary is five times that of President Bush." as reported in news report in April last year. Amazing isn't it? The salary of the leader of such a small country like Singapore (some people may not even know of Singapore) is higher than that of the leader of the powerhouse America.
