What are your views on using a micro wave oven?

What is your view on using a micro wave oven? Are they harmful to health?
Is not a regular cooking on a stove just as harmful? I get ill when I use a regular electric oven but not when I use a microwave oven and I am wondering why?

Properly functioning (undamaged) microwave ovens are not dangerous to health, just like conventional electric ovens aren't. If you're getting ill when you use your electric oven then I'd be looking carefully at what you're actually cooking - not just in your pan but also any dirt/debris lying inside your cooker.

microwaves destroy some of the most essential food nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. Don't ever keep your food for long in the microwave. Although the waves from microwaves are not that harmful, continuos exposure can cause skin cancer so all the time make sure to wait some seconds before opening the microwave to remove your food. Also you microwave certified heating containers anytime you want to heat your food. Don't just use any container available becomes most of these plastic containers on the market are very poisonous in microwaves.

microwave cooking is faster than regular cooking on a stove which in some way makes microwave cooking better. The longer you keep the food on fire the more nutrients you will loose. Just don't keep your food for long in the microwave like you do on a regular stove

Microwave can cook fast and better as compared to stoves.

I really like microwave ovens. One of the people in the house never uses them and doesn't think I should. I've been telling people we make a good pair because I almost never use the stove. I do most of my cooking with the microwave. When I do use the stove, I cook a lot of meals at a time and refrigerate or freeze them, then use the microwave when I want to eat.

Lately it's been yams, or sweet potatoes. I cook them for 5 min, turn them over, another 5 min, and if they are big enough, do it again. In a regular oven the last time I tried, after about an hour it wasn't even close to being done.

If anyone is going to post that they do have harmful effects, I'd appreciate it if they back that up. Link to the study, or to where you got the information. There are no harmful effects that I'm aware of.
