It certainly is a huge problem and all the countries in the world will have to undertake immediate Herculean efforts collectively to fight global warming. The scenario is dire with excess of greenhouse gasses, CO2, methane in the air. This alters and pollutes waters and causes oceans/rivers to flood.
Less fossil fuels, coal burning, reducing deforestation, going with electric/hydrogen fuel cars will help to reduce pollution. I was just reading that the UN says raising animals causes more greenhouse gases than cars. So maybe it might be a good idea or precaution to go vegetarian. There are a lot of simple things we all can do to stop global warming from getting worse. For instance, to save millions of fuel we can: drive slower, drive 5% less, and make sure tires are inflated. |

I really think that we should all do these together because this is a global matter. This can’t be undone by jut one person or one nation. This is a continuous thing and should not be taken lightly. If you started on doing your share, you must always do this and educate the children about this matter. I know even if we are uniting our ways. It would take such a long time before the earth could heal itself and thus it would take generation after generation before it finally heal.

It's time for all to think about this issue seriously. We are just destroying our future. Every individual & every country should feel the essence of solving this problem. We all are responsible for it & we all should go hand in hand to resolve the issue.

Global warming is the global matter, and it need the cooperation from all the human beings, if they want to overcome this issue...
The good thing is, most of the peoples started to show their concern and awareness to the global warming at the present. |

I do think that there is global warming and it is doing a lot of damage to the world. Our weather is changing, parts of the arctic ice is melting, Lake Superior is warmer than it's ever been, and other things.
Many people don't believe in global warming and that's okay but I don't think it would be so horrible if we all tried to do something to make the world cleaner. |

I think global warming is an alarming issue worldwide. Ozone layers are already destroyed allowing UV rays to go directly into the atmosphere. Harmful consequences of this include melting ice on the polar region which brought about the rise in sea levels.

Nice thread! an eye catcher, We all know how bad the condition of earth is at. We get typhoons bigger and stronger than usual. In some countries migrating birds leave early their nesting grounds. At the northern hemisphere we Polar Bears struggle to look for food. I think the good side of petroleum prices is going up is we can lessen the use of it. In this way we lessen the emission of CO2 in the atmosphere. lets just hope it is not too late to make earth a lot greener. |

I find this problem to be the most sensitive problem nowdays.Global warming, caused mainly by carbon dioxide from the combustion, is perhaps the most serious problem mankind faces today. We all should support more of electric cars and bikes to fight these problems.

There are many causes of Global Warming due to the growing technology of today. Though we cannot stop this from happening, but we can slow down the ozone layer destruction. Let us do our part. Planting a tree, changing our light bulbs to compact fluorescent lightbulb (CFL) to save energy and many more.
We can do this if we want to. |

I think that schools are doing a very good job at the moment of informing students of global warming. They are, after all, the protectors of the future and their actions will be responsible for the amount of carbon dioxide emissions. Global warming, I believe, is a real threat and the first step to countering it is awareness.

were making the ocean into a big toilet that we can never flush.
later on fishing will be banned and all the garbage will continue accumulating and we will not be able to burn it because of all the smoke and chemicals in the air so it doesn't matter if global warming is a question mark for you everything we do in life as consequences

Global warming is definitely a large issue, and in order to improve the Earth's condition, all of us (as in everyone on this planet) has to do something that's more "green." It's true that a lot of people have already taken action, but I personally think that the truth is that it's not enough quite yet.

its a nice thing that you have brought this in this thread.. because of global warming all the weather system is changing.. i am from India and at this time there should be winters, but still we are having summers.. and if we don't take some serious steps regarding it, we will loose everything..

Global warming has now become the biggest issue of all time. Our generation has seen lot of abuse done to our mother Earth. In just about 100 years or less, mankind has almost certainly destroyed all life-forms by greed and corrupt practices. So many nuclear explosions, so much perishing of jungles to make huge concrete cities, so much hatred and crimes, wars, etc.
And now global warming... it is not a new phenomenon, just a continuation of the ill-effects. The increasing natural calamities that we are witnessing now is the beginning of the end... what heritage we are leaving behind for our future generations... will there be any future generation? Nature is hitting back hard... who can take so much abuse? It saddens me... |

First of all, global warming occurs when gases like carbon dioxide(greenhouse gases) that act as a barrier of heat to escape from the surface of our planet, are in abundance in air. An increase in greenhouse gases has caused the global temperature to increase. There has been also an increase in sea level due to melting of ice caps. Global Warming has also caused changes in climatic patterns.
We must take some serious measures to stop global warming. |

I think global warming should be taken into consideration. Maybe not "serious" consideration but every little bit helps.
But I do also want to see what life would be like if an ice age would hit. The Sahara Desert might become a resort. But in all seriousness, global warming is and will be a huge pain in the butt if we don't be careful with it. |

Ofcourse....I am also deeply concerned with the after-effects of the global warming and each one of us should do whatever possible to minimise the risk of blowing away our Earth.
On second thought, I somehow tend to not agree that it is all the mis-doings of the mankind. I have read that our Galaxy is being gulped up by Milky-way, a larger galaxy which has a strong and powerful central force than what we have seen so far in our tiny galaxy. Due to this transition, our solar system is suddenly experiencing excessive heat in the environment. Just my humble opinion though..... Regards, Right |

Global warming is really affecting all of us. The weather is getting hotter and hotter and the glaciers are melting too fast and I have heard on the news that the glaciers of Canada have started to break off already from its place because the global warming. In Indonesia, the dry season and the rainy season seem very unpredictable now.. Rain even fall during a dry season.Well who is to be blame for that? Human beings by over-exploitation of resources and pollution made earth permanently sick and old,so obviously we will have to face the consequences for our own action.

Global warming is a real big issue... We can already feel that effects nowadays, especially when we're out, the sun's heat really biting and it feels like we're being fried, do you also feel that too.. However, as what has been said, this can't be done by a person alone, it needs global support, from all walks of life, young and old, rich and poor, man or woman. We all need to work hand in hand in order to stop or at least minimize global warming. And that is where the problem starts, we just can't mobilize everyone to support his call..
We all know that former vice president Al Gore started, but if we won't do our share and just wait for others to do it for us, then nothing would happen. |
