I have Windows XP. I'm in no rush to upgrade to Windows Vista, I probably won't until I buy a new computer. I have used Windows Vista before but I don't think it has any great advantage over Windows XP.

Our computers at home are Windows XP based (we have 5 computers at home). I think it's more user-friendly than the other operating system available in the market.

Well i have been using Microsoft Windows ever since i was a child and right now i use XP professional. Except for its hanging problems i find this OS extremely user friendly. Linux is also a great OS but not as user friendly as Windows.

Windows have always been our operating system used in our computers. From Windows 95 to 98, even the Millennium Edition (ME) and now the XP. I like them because they are user-friendly.

I've used Windows since the days of Windows '95. Right now I'm using Windows XP. I really want to buy another computer, but I'm not sure I'm ready to switch to Vista. I have used Vista before and it does have some features that I like, so I'm sure I'll change and upgrade eventually.

I am currently using Windows XP. So far, it is working pretty good. I only have simple needs with regards to OS. As long as I can do my online business, that is fine with me. But I'm planning to study deeper all about computer stuffs.

I'm a windows Vista user. There has been a lot of debate about the incompetencies of Vista but I find that it has been working alright for me so far, probably because there aren't too many programs I'm running right now. A very annoying aspect of Vista is the UAC or what they call it for the security centre - It keeps asking you for your permission before you do things.

I'm a mac guy myself, and no I'm not a bandwagon jumper. I've used one since 1992, and stuck with it through the thick and thin. I like mac because it makes me look computer savvy, even though I'm a complete dolt when it comes to computers.

I am currently using Ubuntu Linux, it was a bit of a steep learning curve when I first got started. I would say it is the most user friendly version of linux I have seen.

I cannot wait though to get back to using Windows, as I am missing quite a few of my favourite applications.

I am running XP at home while Vista for my notebook. Microsoft officially announced that the support for XP will be discontinued in 2012 (If I remember correctly) so I think I will buy a core 2 computer and upgrade my home computer to Vista soon. The Vista does a good job in my notebook, there were a few software incompatibility problems but there's always a way and the new software will support Vista better in future.

Well for programmers I will always suggest using Linux because linux programmers earn much. Vista is damn slow and has hell requirements. So we all prefer, windows XP.

I'm running on Vista right now - my other HDD runs on XP. I used to hate Vista, so I always went on my XP harddrive. I've recently switched back to see if it's improved, and honestly it really has. I think they've fixed a lot of bugs and compatibility issues, but it really took them a while. I've been considering to switch to either a MAC or just getting linux, as they've gotten a lot of positive reviews.

My computer is running Windows XP Professional. I think switching to Vista might not be helpful now as I heard Vista uses more memory. I'm not interested in Linux or anything now as Windows is more than enough.

Well ,

1) Win 98
2) windows 2000
3) Windows 2000 advaced server
4) Windows 2003
5) Windows XP

these are the operating systems I have already used.
Out of all them i realy liked the windows 2000 advanced server and windows 2003. I personally found them as stable systems than others.

Currently I am using XP for my Desktop and Laptop too. It has some problems but I am still using it.

I also have Windows XP. I think it is pretty good, and I enjoy it. I like the colors, the features, the games, and everything else. I think my computer was a very good deal. I only spent a few hundred, and it has been very useful to me. I did upgrade the monitor and the megabytes, and I plan to upgrade again in the near future.

The ugly fugly Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit.
I hate it.
I've already purchased Windows 7 (Pre-buy), and I will get it before Christmas for sure, they don't even know the Launch date (Microsoft doesn't know it).

I used to have XP, and ran XP on this powerful machine of mine (Intel, Core 2 Quad, 2.88GhZ, 6GB Ram, 1TB Hard Drive, 1G nVidia Gforce 9600 Graphics Card)
But it crashes sometimes, I couldn't figure out why and was too lazy to get it looked at.

Thumbs up Re: Which Operating System do you use?

The operating system which I use is Windows Vista and it is the most common around my society. Two years before windows xp was common but now vista has taken the place of it. One best thing about windows vista is that it does not hang commonly , if some program has stopped working, it will checkout by closing it. But, in Windows Xp if some program fails whole pc has to be rebooted and is frustrating in that way.

For your information, Ubuntu is just a linux distro or OS based on linux, so you need not write it twice. I have Windows vista Ultimate and Opens use 10.3 installed in my system, and though i hate vista, i have to use it currently because I have some apps which can't be ported to Linux. Else I would have trashed this windows os. The worst OS ever - and daylight robbers.Mac OSX is a bit over-hyped, but is a powerful one, especially for multimedia users. Solaris is ok, but it's difficult to say anything, but it is getting better and better. In my opinion the best and stable OS in the world is linux. But it's a bit hard to get used to it, but once you do, you'll never even look back to windows. Period.
