When is the last time you bought a CD? Last time I bought a CD was probably 2001, an M2M CD. Other than that I just Youtube the song. I don't even download it anymore. How about you?

I don't know if it's an eye opener for pirates, I would say it's an eye opener for the music industry-- that have been woefully slow in adapting to trends in technology. The last time I bought a CD, 2006 -- maybe. People are just willing to take the lower quality of a mp3 and the mindset that it should be free was reinforced with Napster --

Not in this millennium. That is correct. i have not bought any CDs in this millennium. The last time I bought a CD was probably in 1998. That is only 10 years back. but that was a different millennium and a different century. I truly believe that the concept of selling CDs for a profit is an outdated concept.

now you rarely hear about this word CD because everything is available online which is just a click away. so within 2-3 years i think compact discs will not be in existence.

Wow.. This is a very good question.
Actually I did not even once bought disc music in my whole life, I never paid to hear music (Maybe just for watching appearances if it is considered).
I have only one disk of Linkin Park and I did not pay him too, this was a gift from a friend.
And.. only for general information, I have more than 10 Gb of songs on my computer.. (:

Wow. Interesting. Seems like its been quite long since you guys have bought a CD. Am I the minority here? I just bought a CD recently. But I don't really buy CDs often except for a few singers whom I really like. Other than that, I'll just listen to songs online.

I can't remember when was the last time we bought a CD, probably it was ages ago. Ever since the proliferation of pirated CD's, we have refrained from buying CDs since we don't get a good quality buy. We normally just rent CD's to watch new movies since its a lot cheaper than buying a new one, and we could rent more than one movie for the price of a new CD. By doing that, we could enjoy a lot of movies at one sitting..

There was a time that I bought CDs almost in bulk... A friend had a CD Writer and supplied the whole neighborhood with some games, but we had to bring him CDs. Years after I stopped playing games and I stopped buying them.

The last Cd I bought was a Nirvana's special released album "In utero". It was about a year ago.

Aleiah, I also practice the rent-movie tactics - it is much more cheaper and the renting house is just a few minutes away.

Yet, I have bought films - some very special for me, like The Maltese Falcon, the 13th warrior and so on. But I avoid buying films, because there is no guarantee one will like it and it isn't that cheap.

A few years ago. I generally stick to MP3's now...CD's are quickly becoming obsolete, especially with the limited number of songs that can be held. Why buy 18 songs when you can by 1800? lol.

Besides, the quality tends to be so much better on an MP3, and the likelihood of a file becoming corrupt is less likely then a CD getting scratched.

Recently I bought a DVD for my friend as a gift. One of my friend loves to listen to the rock songs. I gifted him with lot's of songs loaded in the dvd . So that he can feel happy on his birthday . This is a memorable incident in my life.

Well, I guess I would have to say it was probably 7 years ago. I stopped buying them when I got the internet I guess.
Now I usually just listen to music on youtube or something. My brother still buys Cd's though and thank god for that, because if it wasn't for him I would have nothing to listen to when I'm away from home. Sure I could download the music to my Mp3 player, but being as forgetful as I am, I forget to do that. So I take the cd's he bought with me and he usually get's all pissy face about it.

I honestly can't remember the last time I've purchased a cd, it has to be around 2002 lol. I've been obtaining my music offline since then, mp3's are much more efficient than cd's, I don't even think I own a cd players besides the one in my car.

piracy on internet has spread so much that one hardly thinks of bringing it from the market
everyone prefers to download the song or movie or software or game they like from various sites only .no one would like to purchase something from the market when it is available for free in the market.lol

It must be around 1.5 years now .
Huge hard disks are now cheaply available and thus there is no point writing data on to CDs nowadays. Also as far as the music is concerned thanks to you tube everything is available. I am not an HD video freak and quality is not a big deal for me

The last CD I bought was in 2004 when Green day released their American Idiot album. Now I just usually download any songs I like thru Itunes. It's much easier this way and I don't have to waste my shelf space with cds and I can transfer the songs directly to my ipod without having to go import them to my computer of the CDs.
