I also have a blog and some squidoo lenses, too. But so far I earned zero, zilch, nada. I guess it's just me because I often read about people who are earning residual income from their blogs. But I'll still try my best - I want to have a very successful blog that earns $$$, month after month. Wish me luck, guys.

Where does one actually start to get a blog or website going that can generate extra income? The jobs I work from home are mainly call center type and data entry type jobs, but I would also be interested in trying some of those ad based sites if I knew where to begin.

I have several online businesses that I manage daily and trust me it is not easy. Sure you do not have to put up capital but you spend more money trying to make your business noticeable.
When you have an offline business there is a great chance that someone will pass by your store or office and see the signs outside but with an online business you can have a website online for months before someone finds it. |

I think an online business is easier to start that an offline or "brick and mortar" one. It requires very little up-start cash (if any) and it gives most people an equal playing field to succeed.
However, because of those same reasons, it’s harder to succeed at an online business. This is where your sales savvy needs to kick in, your determination and willingness to spend a lot of hours on the computer. It's definitely not something that's going to happen overnight (just like any other business). But don't let this steer you away from starting one, just remember to do your research and be willing to work hard. I've learned that the people that work the hardest and are confident are the ones that succeed. They may not make it to millions of dollars, but they do seem to be living comfortably. |

An online business indeed is a wonderful option because many online business opportunities require little capital to start off. From the budding writer to a gardener, there's something in e-commerce for everybody. One could publish an e-book focusing on the area of one's expertise. And as far as promotion is concerned, there are a lot of places on the Internet that offer substantial advertising with no out-of-the-pocket expenses. An affiliate business is a lucrative option, with many quality merchants paying handsome commissions on the Internet, and one often doesn't have to pay up for signing as an affiliate.

I began earning @ age of 10 using CPC programs but now i earn $50/day using various methods! Yep, online earning rocks. I am 14 and I earn more than my dad. It feels really good. Although I must not forget he helped me all the way. Plus I had to put in some capital.

Online business is now the current trend and as we are witnessing more and more big business exploiting the great potential of the internet, I am sure this is the way to making business into the future.
The internet is now getting to be the great equalizer and especially of big help to small entrepreneurs who are limited in capital and influence as compared to big business. Starting an offline business requires some hard cash and the risks involved are quite enormous for any start-ups. Thanks to the evolution of the internet, it is now much cheaper and much more efficient to be conducting business online. Plus, when we talk of market, you can easily expand your potential to global target -- and this is something of enormous benefits to you. With all the information available on the net 24/7, any keen businessman could be easily updated of much needed details for decision making. Going online can be very profitable at lesser cost plus the market could be global. It is not a wonder why thousands are joining this bondwagon everyday. |

Both the methods of doing business are good and its effectiveness would vary from person to person.
Majority of the people would prefer doing off line business since it is hands on and one gets to socialize and get to meet many new people one on one...and also gives them opportunity to travel long distances. Off line business just needs basic acumen to trade and while it is not necessary to be knowing English. Online business is pretty much easy and gives up quicker opportunity, but only to those who are good in English...Hence it becomes a tough entry barrier for majority of world population not proficient in this globally accepted language. Thus...off line business being pursued by many demand lot more effort while on line being limited to few people still is very opportunistic. Regards, Walker |

I've tried my hand at several online businesses and I've failed each and every time, hm I wonder what the problem is? I'm about to start another one up in a week, but I'm thinking if I play my hand right it will be a success because the market is right for the business, even though it's nothing new. So I think online businesses are better for several reasons, you can work in your pajamas, you can usually set your own schedule, I'm not good with face to face meetings but I'm an awesome writer, so email is my communication of choice -- many times you don't have to have stock -- and it's easier to reach a global community... so yeah, online business seems to be much better.

Online business has its advantages that you need not invest a lot in shelf space or inventory as was shown by Amazon and Netflix. But offline business would be better for you if you are an outgoing personality and would like to have one on one contact with people in your daily life.
