How many times do you check your email a day?

At normal times I would only check my emails once daily and at times even, when I have got no time I do not check them. But if I should be awaiting some important emails, I would make it a must to check in several times to see if they had come.

In this world of instant communication my email is open every single time I am online. The best part is that FireFox has tabs so I can continue my browsing even while receiving my email.

I have two email accounts that I use regularly and my Outlook is always open so you could say I check it quite often and I have a free yahoo account that I opened over 15 years ago that I check about once a day since it gets filled with mostly spam.

I keep opening my email inbox very frequently as the work my company gets, they outsource it to the employees like me, and so we have to keep checking when we are updated with the new tasks. And am a networking kind of person, so have direct contact for business with many people.

So most of the interaction with everyone is through emails, and that's why i very frequently check my emails.

Sometimes I won't check it at all, other times I will check it at least 10 times in a day. lol. The sad part is that there is rarely anything in there to check, just spam and the occasional notice for a website I rarely use.

I check my e-mail many times a day, at least 4-5 times. Before I had a computer, checking my e-mail was an occasion that used to take place every other day, and the increased frequency of me opening my inbox is more a matter of easy access than necessity. Most of the times, it is for the purpose of checking out the latest messages from social networking sites.

It is surely the first thing I do....as soon as I log on to the internet...

It is also the last thing I do.....when I about to shut down for the day...

I access internet from my office and hence there are fixed working hours and I have taken care not to have net at home for fear of robbing my family of my company when even at home.

Though..even at home...I do check my e-mails at certain urgent times..from my mobile !!!

Who is counting? i stopped count since i get something like 30-40 e-mails per day.
Every day around 6 o'clock i am waiting for e-mails from my work so i am checking many times. but usually the e-mails are spam.

Frankly, I check more than 20 times a day.
That is because of the fact that I own a website and have a request section there. So all requests come to my mailbox. So to check them I have to access the mail after every half an hour.

I sign in and check my email the first thing I log on to the internet every time. I use MSN messenger, so its easy for me to keep track of the emails that are coming in when I'm online. I'll just open those incoming mails straight away whenever they arrive.

I have a few email accounts, but I automatic forward all the mails to my Hotmail so that its much easier to keep track of those incoming mails and I don't have to keep switching between all the accounts.

a very nice question. i use my internet almost 24/7 i use all my bandwidth and of course i check my mail every five minutes and also i will be on yahoo messenger so that i will get the instant notification of any mail.

Depends on the day of the week and the number of emails you are expecting. If i am expecting an email from some one, I usually keep on checking every half ab hour or so. Otherwise, I usually check my mails a minimum of once every day. Any time I am expecting a payment, i do check my email multiple times a day.

I am also doing a lot of online works aside from my regular job in order that I could provide a better life for my family, especially my kids. This began since I started doing online jobs, but before that I barely look or peek in my emails. I have email accounts before that got dissolved because it wasn't checked for more that six months already, thus, making another one when the need arises.

Seeing as I work on the computer my email is open all the time. Its important for me to stay up to date on my clients needs as well as any news on patches and stuff for my servers.

Like most of you, myself also have about three e-mails to monitor. One email is for my formal tasks in the office and the rest two are my personal emails which are Yahoo and Gmail. Once I turn on and get connected to the internet, my emails will be always on. Then I will refresh it often to keep myself updated on the current emails I received. Doing online jobs really need us to keep track our activities through emails. Cannot run away

Infact, a recent study says that we spent an hour a day checking emails.

checking emails is just my hobby and I enjoy doing it anytime I'm free. In a typical 24 hour period, I think I check my emails not less than 3 times.

I'm 16, and still go to school, but when I'm at lunch or at break, i always go up to the library to check my e-mail on the computers there.

but some people are crazy for all this. they keep their mail accounts open all through out the day whether a mail comes or not.lol(am giving an example of one of my friends)
if we talk about sites which have their messengers(like yahoo), we get easily notified when a mail comes so we don't have to open the site, go to our inbox again and again to check if we have a new mail or not

I check my email two times a day
I do it early in the morning and then in the evening at around 2000 hrs
when I am expecting a mail then i do it 5-6 times a day. Never would like to miss an important mail

Due to my growing online community, I try to check my emails at least five times per day. I use my iPod Touch to easily view recent messages in my inbox. I always try to respond in a timely manner, and due to frequently checking my email, I can do just that!

I just log in to my messenger, and whenever an email comes, I am automatically informed. So, I never have to check my email, and as soon as I am notified about email, I go through them quickly.

it is a good way to get all emails without actually opening the browser. But I get only 1 useful email out of every 10. Rest are spams.

I use my email to take orders and for several businesses and websites that I'm currently running.

So i refresh them every couple of minutes, as if i don't, I'll be swarmed down with hundreds of emails via the few providers i use.

I do the msn messenger thing too which is good as i can keep track of one email account that way but i can't for the numerous others.

i open my yahoo mail every hour. the reason is that i have two sites currently running. i receive a lot and lot of requests , suggestions, feedback via mail. so i have to be tuned up to my mail always.

I must check my email about 5 to 8 times a day. I do a lot of online jobs and I really need to be updated as much as possible. It's pretty frustrating actually. Thank god for hotmail though. If I have my messenger open at least it will play a sound when I receive an email, unlike that little bastard gmail.
