Default Anyone makes money online as their primary job?

I was wondering if anyone makes money online as their primary job. I just got layed off and I was thinking about becominga full time blogger. Is that unrealistic? Am I kidding myself with this?

That's a good question, b2bbreps. At the moment, I too work strictly online but, in doing so, I don't exactly make the "big bucks" so my husband also works (not online) to help us bring in a second income as mine alone would never support us efficiently. I do think working solely online can bring somebody a good, stable income if they took it seriously and put their heart into it but, in addition, I also think it would have to be the "right" work that they're doing. Blogging? Hmmm, I don't know how much of an income that would actually bring in because I am not a blogger myself and I don't have enough experience in that area to actually give you an honest answer so I don't want to give you advice that could very well be way off base. I'd have to say that I would really like an answer (a true-blue, honest answer, I mean) for that, though, because I've considered blogging myself but have never really done anything with that idea simply because I want to know more about it before I do. If anyone else out there can share their thoughts and/or views, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated by more than just b2breps and myself.

Thanx everyone.

No making money online is not at all unrealistic. It is just that you need to have plenty of experiences of way of earning online before you actually earn online. I would suggest you to build a good content website, add some SEO techniques into it, and then bring in quality customers by keeping your site updated. Finally, add google adsense to start earning right away.

one advice i will like to give you is to go out there and get yourself a good day job that pays at regular intervals. Making a living from online is just a theory and only few people succeed in taking that into practical work.

I am working full time online, as of my experience i have been working for almost four years as a homebased worker, blogging, link building, and encoding. But not everybody choose to work online end up successful as i was, there are a lot of scams and clients that wont pay you after taking a lot of your time doing what they wish.

Some people are making LOTS of cash online. You just have to have the time and to be eager to learn.

You can make a good amount of money with blogging. Especially if you have an older blog, and have alot of traffic. There are other work at home opportunities available, if you want to do more then one thing. You can be a home based recruiter, a chat operator, a call center representative, a transcriptionist or real time captioner, a writer, or a forum booster. There are alot of survey panels you can join, it is great for extra money.

As some people say, 'blogging is for everyone, but making money from it isn't.' I think in order to succeed online (make big bucks) you also have to apply the things you do in a usual job. You need the drive, the determination and patience.

I dont think it could be possible. It is just a source of some extra monthly income. I think only software developers can earn a living from online. Only if they get monthly some good projects to be done.
