Question Which is the first and the most ancient religion in the world?

There are many different religions out there. Some are similar and some are broadly different. Normally, if a person proclaims to have any type of faith at all they believe it somewhat strongly. So, how does one know which religion is the right religion? What if you spent your entire life believing a certain way, living as closely to that religion as possible, but then at the end you are only to find out you were wrong all along.

You know, I have thought the same thing before and still I don't have a good answer. What a shame it would be if after living a strict baptist life that I find out the Catholics were right and I could have enjoyed some things that we had left out of our lives. :p

I think this is a pretty common question for many strongly religious individuals and is one that is almost impossible to answer. The only way I could see an explanation is just in faith and the inborn desire to believe that your decision and beliefs are the right ones.

There is no really telling what is right and what is wrong. For me, it’s all about where you think it is comfortable. I don’t like to think of it since it would only create confusion on my part.

Every religions are right religions.Different religions have different faiths & thoughts. As a Christian,we may think that the beliefs of Muslims or Hindus are wrong. And as a Muslim,we may think that the thoughts of Hindus or Christians are not good. But that's not true.

At last I must say "HUMANITY IS OUR RELIGION"

I don't think any religion can save us. If you want the assurance that what you believed is true and you won't have any regrets in the end then stick your faith to the teachings of the bible. I assure you no religion can save us but it's through faith.

Well, to me is not about the religion you're choosing, it's all about the humanity and your faith in the religion that you've chosen...

Furthermore, as long as the religion not a cult one, there should be fine.

I think you may be right as far as what I believe. But what about others who don't read the Bible, but have other books of faith that they believe is right? I would never want to tell them they are wrong when their faith may be just as strong as mine.

Cool

well, i think i already answered this question in a similar thread but i'll just repeat my answer. not that all religions are fake but they are making things rather too fake for my understanding. i don't trust in any religion. i just trust myself. "thou shalt not kill" yet they kill. "thou shalt not steal" yet they steal, "thou shalt not commit adultery" yet they do. etc.

The right religion is the one that fits most closely with your views on life. At least that's what I think. I believe in god and Jesus, but I don't really follow a set religion. I'm still convinced that most of the world religions were made by men and therefore are not as correct as they seem.

Needless to say as long as you live a good happy life and don't harm others that is really all you need.

There is no wrong religion. Whatever faith you belong to is right.

I don't understand about believing in a religion and then discovering you were wrong. What does that mean? How could believing be wrong? How would discover that your religion wasn't the "right" one? Some of the posters mentioned this and I just don't get it.

Sorry to confuse you skats. I just meant that what if you went all your life believing a certain way, but then when you left this world it turned out that you weren't believing as you should have. For instance, there are Satanists (just an example here) that truly believe they are living their lives as they should and believing as they should. However, what if when it is their time to leave this world they discover that their way of life has caused them to seal their fate in Hell. However, for all I know that may be what they believe anyway. Basically, I'm trying to say what if you lived your life in the way you thought you should, but then at the end it turned out you didn't.

I don't really think any religion is right. I believe spiritual paths...a different concept...that are "human first and earth based", are closer to truth.
