Default What do you guys think of tattoos?

A friend of mine just got a tattoo and I have been thinking about it. I'm pretty sure my job will not have a problem with it but I'm not sure I really want to put some ink on my body that will stay forever. What do you guys think of tattoos?

Cool RE: Tatoos

Well this is a personal choice as far as I'm concerned. I personally do not want one on my body, but then there are really cute ones that are not overwhelming. I think it depends on where you want it too. As fas as work goes, you have to consider your lifetime career choices for years to come, not just the job or boss you have now.

So with that said, it the tattoo is not dominating over what everybody sees when they look at you, then it should be okay for most bosses. Being distracted by a tattoo is like that interview commercial where the stain on the shirt distracted the entire interview. The boss had no idea what the guy said at all. I don't think you want that effect. A tattoo should be private for your own pleasure in your personal life, more than sporting at work. Also consider whether your job might ever include meeting top clients who would not approve. Just weigh out everything as to how it may, or may not, effect the outcome now and years down the road in your life.

They just had a news story where more women are removing tattoos after they grew up and have families. I did not think the one the lady had on her ankle was a big deal, but apparently it was to her, believing everyone was staring and making negative comments. Again sounds more like a personal issue relative to tattoos.

I have tattos as does hubby and both of our older children, some of the tattoos are great others are really bad. I think it is down to personal choice and people shouldnt be judged because of them.

I like them. The only problem I have with getting one is the pain. I know I would not be able to stand it.

i know it is a personal choice but i personally see people with tattoos as either disturbed or maybe bad character. i might be thinking so because of my culture. tattoo is not a sin but it is considered very bad in Africa where i come from.

That is understandable. You were raised to beleive that. Everyone has the right to their own opinion and beliefs. I do not beleive everyone wth tattoos are bad or crazy

Well I am offended I am neither disturbed or have a bad character and that comment is really not needed!

I'm not a real fan of tattoos. Once it's on your body it's there and very difficult to remove. Maybe little ones like a small flower is nice but I won't have one put on me. I personally don't like them and it is also against my religion.

That is fair enough why is it against your religion?

I made a personal choice to get tattoos and should the day come when my skin is saggy I am not worried about that neither I'll just turn my tattoo into a puzzle of sorts and let my Grand babies try and figure out what it use to be :-) To each their own.

I see a lot of tattoos that I don't admire, but some can be meaningful.

My sister-in-law got one to help remember a friend of hers who passed away, because they'd discussed getting tattoos together, but never got around to it.

Also, I can certainly see the significance of someone in the armed forces getting a tattoo in honour of a regiment or something like that.

Well I do not have one, but I think it would depend on whom gets one and there views. I could care less if someone has one it is there body.

you are right skattss! .. it is a personal choice but once it's on your body, that is it. In fact it is very difficult to remove. tattoos look very nice on some people and very ugly on others. well it is a personal choice as you said but i will never go in for a tattoo.

I think having a tattoo makes one feel sexier. Actually, I'm planning to get one soon. Could anyone give me some tips before I'll get a tattoo?

LOL! I aint even gonna ask where those tattoos are!

I'm neutral regarding tatoos on other people. I have considered tatoos for myself in the past, and had the opportunity knocked when I was in my "mood" I'd no doubt have one by now.

Personally, I'm not wanting to get one, nor do I have one at this time.

Default Tattoos are here to stay.

Tattoos are here to stay, for the fact of their permanency drives a lot of people to go in for them! Even when one goes head over heels in love with someone, he often thinks of having his lover's name tattooed.

I think tattoos are something which not everyone can carry. These look good on high profile people but for a common man, very few of us can do justice to a tattoo. Besides, i personally am not a big fan of tattoos as they make your skin sag and also, it involves a lot of pain to get a tattoo done!

I like tattoos and feel that its a form of expression for some people while others get a tattoo to remember someone or other reasons that they feel are very dear to them. I do advise people that are getting tattoos to think really long and hard before hand because one it's there, it's there.

What do you mean with high profile people? Well, I guess anyone can get tattoo as long as you can create your own statement. Also, you must have fully decided to get one since it would be hard to remove it.

I have a couple of tattoos but they are not on highly visable areas. Just carefull where you put them as it may come back to haunt you down the road.

I honestly find it very artistic and I think it's really a work of art, I admire those people who made it through their hands and I love watching them, but I never try it for myself I'm afraid it hurts.

They scare the crap out of me. Looking back, I'm not the same person 5 years ago that I am now. I can't even imagine how different I'm going to be in 20 years. I know a girl at my work that got a tattoo when she was 18, now shes 33 married and has two kids and is getting the thing removed. Gotta keep in mind that these times, they are a-changin.

I love tattoos I'm thinking about getting my first and only one and I'm 34. I'm not doing it so I can show it off to people, although it would be a nice talking point

I only do things that appeal to me not because it would appeal to others.
