Angry Time to quit christianity? My point of view

I think some of the Christian aspects suck your head. Let meclarify my view:

God punishes you with fire if you sin

As many think, I too think that forgiveness is the core theme of Christianity. It's a kind of presumption that everyone is sinful. If you sin god will punish you with fire - and the same god asks you to show the other cheek when slapped on one. According to this, a kid who lie, when dies, will straightaway get his fire cake or fire pie at hell. Wow. What a concept.

The Jehova's Witnesses

Yes, the almighty can't save everyone, so he chooses a few ("chosen few") who must be christians -and true christians. The god who claims to have love for all, is partial towards Christians? What about other believers? So you got to believe that god is a racist?

And also the True christians - there are lots of true Christians who believed god liketheir soul, and god conducted a competition to eliminate some? What shall i guess? And they now think that they are chosen by god and superior than anyone. Thats good!

Who is Satan?

The god created things, earth, heaven, angels, wait... From where did this Satan come? When you write a story for a religion, it must be PERFECT. Even Batman comics can have better stories. Why to read the mammoth comic story called Bible (As it's very boring?) Why did he create the forbidden fruit; if he didn't want Adam and eve to have it? Why the heck god cursed them for eating the thing that himself created? Screw the writer.

Believe everything, but:

The big mistake in the Bible, the god already existed (never possible, excuse it, everything is superficial). I oppose this. It was the person who wrote bible was born first. How would he know god already existed? Is it god himself who wrote this story book? Weird.

The first christian who violated the commandment was GOD

“Thou shall not kill”? I see. For instance; God kills 70,000 innocent dwellers just because David ordered a census. (1 Chronicles 21)

More coming up... I will post more views for letting you know why chrisitanity really sucks.. Reply for now..

Well Ranger, that's a very challenging one there! .. God punishes you with fire but the same God teaches about forgiveness in the Bible. Actually, I don't think that God punishes us rather we punish ourselves. First of all, i don't think that anyone can stand the punishment of God and if God is to punish man for all the sins we've committed then there will be no one left on this earth. God is a kind and loving God. He is so free and so fair that after creating man in his own image, he gave man the power to choose whether to worship Him (God) or not. He gave man the power to say yes and no. He gave man the power to choose between right and wrong and He also gave man the power to choose whether to live or to die. That is the power of "free will". What ever a man sows, so shall he reap. Even in science, "Action and reaction are equal and opposite" in other words, to every action, there is always an equal but opposite reaction. We suffer from our own actions. Hell is hell and hell is there for sinners but God who created hell wouldn't allow any of his children to go to hell but what is the problem here? He God has already given man the power of "free will" to choose whether to go to Hell or not. So you see, you cannot blame God if you do not go to heaven.

The Bible is not just a book but a holy book like the holy Quran. Not that the Bible makes mistakes but maybe we the readers do not get exactly what the Bible is trying to say. The Bible like the Quran is a holy book and it is there to guide the followers to the right path. Remember when Jesus was on this earth, Jesus used to speak in proverbs or in parables. Remember the story of the "good Samaritan" .. this story never happened in real life but it is just a story to teach moral values. here "hospitality" .. The story of Job for example could also be just a moral story like the good Samaritan but these stories were added to the Bible so as to teach moral values. The Bible was written by men many many years ago and do not forget that those who wrote the Bible wrote it so to conform or explain what was happening in those days. in other words, the culture and traditions in the Bible reflects those days. The world is changing and culture and traditions do change with time. some of the sayings in those days might mean nothing today but that doesn't mean that those sayings are mistakes in the Bible.
Back to your question, "Satan" is a name Christians give to the devil or evil. From philosophical or theological point of view, "Satan" or the devil is just human invention or do not exist. Remember that evil is not something by itself. evil cannot exist by itself and hence evil do not exist. Evil (Satan) is just the absence of Goodness (God). In other words, Satan is not a being by itself. It is the absence of Goodness that man refers to as Evil (or Satan in Christianity). According to the Bible however, Satan used to be an archangel with many sweet voices. He was a head choirester in heaven and he was sent down to this earth when he started a rebellion to overthrow God as the creator. Who was there to have recorded all these events? maybe this should answer the other question.. The Bible as we all know was written by men but this men were under God's inspiration and hence the Bible is the word of God.
Back to the "Adam and Eve" story. God created man for two main reasons. One is to worship and serve Him (God) as the creator and the other one was to take care of all of the things He (God) has created. God put the tree of life in the garden of eden so us to see whether the man He has created really loves Him or not. One could blame God if God had refused to give instructions to Adam and Eve concerning this particular tree in the garden but I don't think it is fair to blame God here because He gave Adam all the instructions and the consequences of breaking any of these rules and regulations. Adam and Eve had the power to choose between right and wrong but they decided to choose what is wrong and hence Adam and Eve brought the curse upon themselves not that God just decided to curse them.

Hi gloria,

I am a person who believes that serving people can turn hell to heaven. So i don't believe the heck hell and heaven. Why should we PUNISH ourself rather than thinking positive and regretting about it. Every religion are paying respect to other religions but Christians are over proud that they are the chosen few and never any other religions claims that they are choosen by god, and so they are superior.

Default Bible is agianst women!

Quote:
"For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (I Corinthians 11:8-9)

Bible gives men supremacy over women; and woman are sluts who must be slaves of men?

Quote:
"Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." (Genesis 3:16)

The women get cursed for the fall, god decides to multiplies her sorrows, and that's not all, she must submit herself to her husband like a slave.
Quote:

"If she go not as thou wouldest have her, cut her off from thy flesh, and give her a bill of divorce, and let her go." (Eccles. 25: 26)

"A shameless woman shall be counted as a dog; but she that is shamefaced will fear the Lord." (Eccles.26:25)
This does not appear in many of the bibles, still it can be found in the catholic bibles as the sample of how bible abuses and crushes woman down to earth or far below that.

What moral values does the above posted verses teach?

As I said the cosmiclaw, the story of the good Samaritan didn't happen in real life but it is a story that teaches hospitality. The story of Job might not have happened in real life but as we all know the story of Job teaches perseverance and trust in the lord. The Bible is full of stories as you can see but most of these stories were introduced just to teach moral values but did not happen in real life. The story of Adam and Eve throws more light on God as the creator it also teaches obedience and the fear of the lord.

you are right techbuzzie, the Bible is somehow being unfair to women. According to the Bible, Men are superior to women. i just read a similar thread. Not just the Bible, the Quran also does the same thing and women are supposed to be submissive and obedient to men. Back to your question, the Bible also distinguishes the slave from the master and that women are not slaves. Remember i said the Bible was written many centuries ago and that it was written to conform to the culture and traditions of those days. Women served as house-wives in those days. women just cooked, washed, took care of the children and did the other household chores. According to the Bible, man was to work and sweat to take care of his family. the woman's major duty was to bring children into the world and to take care of the household. things are not the same these days because culture and traditions do change with time. Now women work the same hours as men and some women even earn higher than men. If the Bible was written just yesterday then you would have noticed the gender equity but that was many years ago.

Hinduism was older than Christianity. They considered women as godesses. Husband and wife is said to be half of each other - Siva the lord of hindus (one of them) is called "Ardhanareeswara" that means half woman half man. This makes clear the importance given to women.

Muslims concept of woman is good either. They give the bridegroom valuable gifts like gold and cash (i think I'm right) before the marriage which symbolizes that the bride is worth than all the riches. Curse Christianity.

I don't know much aobut Hinduism but i do know a little about Islam and i think women are better of in Christianity than in Islam. yes the man pays a bride price during marriage but after marriage it is the woman's duty to work(do petty trading) to feed her husband. Women are not supposed to worship Allah together with men even in the mosque. women cannot become "Imam" or even "muezzin" .According to the Bible however, the woman shall leave her father and people and move to her husbands house and the two of them shall be joined together and become one flesh. The husband must love and cherish the wife and the wife must be obedient and submissive to her husband which i think is very fair. the Bible also says that God made Eve from one of Adams ribs which implies that Adam is incomplete without Eve hence the importance of Eve (women)

The importance given to women by bible is already mentioned. Hope you read the above posts. Adam and eve is the sole example and the majority of bible is branded for men. It sounds weird and quite annoying that there are lot of people still glorifying this craps, justfying again and again. Go to hell.

i will quote Gloria in this set of lines. " He gave man the power to say yes and no. Very well written. It is up to us on how we are going to live our lives.
Just ask yourself why are you so scared of dying and knowing where your soul will go. Is it heaven or hell.

It is plain stupidity. Do you think you deserve the kingdom of anybodies GOD if you were a sinner. HE will never accept you! because you are selfish until you have died. you are still wanting more after dieing. again being selfish, you want your soul to live in a nice place.

LOL ...do you mean that muslims for instant respect Christian religions ?
Is the first time when I heard something like that, I knew the contrary .
Could you please bring some arguments to whatever you said ?
Christians -the ones that are sincere- try to remain humble and don't consider them superior to others .
It is only your interpretation they have that attitude. Have you ever tried to understand why do you think that way ?

All this hype about the bible making women look like slaves and people leaving their faith is quite disturbing. Firstly, Eve did get punished...it sound like she got it the most but really the Adam also got punished..God didnt favor any of then they were punish by making life hard..labour for women isnt easy and ...no matter how hard Adam worked, the earth wouldnt respond to him....the ground was curse so if men find it hard to grow things..thats their punishment set years ago.

Let us look at why God initally created a woman....Genesis 2:18....God obviously saw that Adam needed a companion, a helper just right for him....Was God punishing Adam there? or was God actually meeting the needs of a Man? no man can ever deny a womans natural gentleness, love, nurture,encouragement....(there more).....Adam loved Eve, i am sure he did....she became a part of him..one flesh...beside thats the first time hes ever seen a woman...anways......dont distort the words of God if your Bitter....bitterness is a sin by the way.....i think you shouldnt allow the ememy into your minds. remember that Satan/lusifa is going to hell...hes a manipulator....and king of all lies...him and his boyfriend! A change of heart and repentance to God can get you on the right track again if your are a backslider........(im not say i am a saint)

Im a born again christian for about 1 year and 3 months ....i was backsliden for 7 months before that...repenting was the hardest thing i ever had to do...BUT...its the best thing ive EVER DONE IN MY LIFE!

GOD IS MARRID TO YOU BACKSLIDERS...HE WANTS YOU BACK HOME...respond to his call....

Only narrow minded feminist would say that women are be littled.

God bless

well I respect everybody's opinion but in my own perceptions I will not quit being a catholic christian, I agree with Gloria, for every explanation she has was written and based on the bible. it depends on the people how they'll interpret and understand what was written in the bible remember this"Many are called but few are chosen" because it depends on the person if he choose to follow God or not. Every actions has consequences.

Christianity is not something that one must be considering very seriously. For as long as you live by your faith or by what you believe to be true, and you basically put them into practice, then there's no point in deciding whether one has to quit Christianity or not. What is Christianity if, after all, you don't bind yourself to the rules or laws established by the doctrine?

Explanation: Never I oppose with u..... I being a Christian, I believe in father almighty. It is not god who wrote the book of the bible. To be clear, Jesus the son of God but not God. Relationship goes like this

Almighty father (God) <--> Jesus <--> Disciples & common people.

It is the disciples who wrote the book of bible with their own experienced with Jesus Christ and the stories were convey to them by him. God to all the religions is a invisible immortal state.

Time to quit Christianity? Never will happen.....

I wouldn't say I'd quit being a Christian because of some radical views about the Bible and Christianity in general. I'm a Roman Catholic, although it is besieged by a lot of controversies, I'm still firm about my faith. It is our belief in Him that made us survived a lot of difficulties or overcome the obstacles in life.
