The image of God according to your religion

what is the image of God according to your religion? Male or female? .. I am a christian and also an African. The bible which is the word of God doesn't present a clear image of God whether male or female. Some texts in the bible presents God as a masculine figure while others present God as a feminine figure. Most Africans believe in more than one God. Most Africans believe that the world is full of Gods and that there is one supreme God who is the head of all these gods. This supreme being however has a masculine figure in some parts of Africa and also a feminine figure in other parts. What do you think? what is the image of God according to your belief?

In accordance with Scripture the Creators determined to create 'man' in their image. Yet also in keeping with Scriptures God is spirit and without form so how is it that we are created in the image of God? The only thing I can figure out is that we are created in the image of His spirit, some of His fundamental characteristics.
Man is the only creature that can 'create' replicas of the natural things of beauty so in essence we can find pleasure in creating the arts.
We also can relate to the procreation of life as parents.
Jesus said that we know how to give good thing to our children even though we are evil. quester

the question seems tricky but the answer to this question is very simple if you read Genesis. God made Adam in His image and likeness. God also made Eve in His image and likeness. Both Adam and Eve have the image of God and therefore God is has both Masculine and Feminine Images in the same God. In other words, God is neither Masculine nor Feminine but both Masculine and Feminine

I think it is good to put God in the masculine sense because our society view the masculine figure as strong and powerful. God is not material and nothing can be compared to God. We just use these figures in our own understandings but they actually mean nothing at all because nothing can be compared to God.

one thing we should know is that, God is a mystery and we cannot understand everything about God because our minds are limited. We cannot know the true identity of God because HE is a mysterious God. God could be a male. God could be a female and God could be both a male and a female. One thing we know for sure is the fact that He is a living God and that He does exist.

i am a hindu and my religion has given complete authority to decide upon the image in which we want to love and worship the almighty. we worship stones, trees, cows, fire almost everything because it believes that God is inside everyone and everything and if you trust him completely and have full faith you can find him in anything.
