The End of the World: Doomsday Facts and Predictions

I know most of you have heard about the 2012 doomsday prophecy. According to the prophecy, the world ends on 21st December 2012. This idea is not popular in Africa. However, I think it is very popular in some western countries because I have seen so many books and videos on youtube about 2012 end of the world or doomsday. In one of the videos, a Professor from an American university was talking about the Ancient Mayan civilization and how the Mayans developed their calendar and how precise that calendar works. According to the professor, the Ancient Mayan calendar which is thousands of years old is even more precise and accurate than our own calendar.

The ancient Mayan calendar according to the professor has successfully predicted several solar and lunar eclipses in the past and all the predictions came through except one which we still awaits and which will happen on 21st December 2012 which according to the Mayan calendar is the end of a cycle, the end of the world, and the beginning of a new world. In the same video the professor mentioned something about the great Albert Einstein. According to the Professor, Albert Einstein also made a prediction about 2012. According to Albert Einstein, the earth will undergo polar shifts.

Polar shift means the north and the south poles of the earth will change positions. In other words, the magnetic and the electric fields of the earth will change directions and that anytime such thing occurs, the earth undergoes drastic changes which may cause global extinction of all species. He also said NASA knows about this. According to the professor, the great Nostradamus also made a prediction about the doomsday in 2012.

He also mentioned something about the Chinese I-ching and how the Mckenna brothers used the I-ching to predict the end of the world which falls on December 21st 2012. In the last 5 minutes of the video, the professor talked about a planet by name Nibiru or the X-planet, a giant planet that will collide with earth in 2012 and many other predictions. I am a Christian and I don't believe in any of these predictions. I believe only God knows the exact day and hour of the end of the world. What do you think about these predictions? will the world end 2012?

Everyone that has ever died has seen the end of this world. Every day more and more people are seeing the end of this world. I myself am not too far from having my last peek at this world. I think what people should really start thinking about is book signing day when the book of your life is opened and either you are signed in with the good or the evil.

What do I think about these predictions?

People are cashing in on these doomsday prophecies. There are thousands of doomsday books online right now. They said the same about the year 2000 but nothing happened. We are in the last days but not yet in the great tribulation. The great tribulation the Bible talked about will come to pass before the end of the world. The great tribulation is a period of 1260 days. There are 365 days in a year which makes the 2012 doomsday prophesy very unlikely

I don't believe in all that crap. The Mayan calendar says nothing about the end of the world. It is just a cycle and the cycle repeats itself. Our calendar is a linear calendar whereas the Mayan calendar is a circular calendar. It is just like going from 31st December to 1st January except that in the Mayan calendar the year also resets. For example from 31st December 2010, we entered 1st January 2011. The Mayan calendar goes like this, from 31st December 2010, the day, the month and the year reset to 01/01/01

and who cares whether the world ends or not? Whether the Mayan calendar is true or not I don't care. No matter what the world will end so why should I care? No matter what I am going to die one day so why should I care?

We are in the last days but nobody knows the last/final day. The Bible gives us signs that will enable us know the end is near.

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes." Wars and rumors of war every single day, the fear of terrorists and terrorists activities, famine in Africa, Haiti earthquake, flooding in Pakistan, extreme volcanic activities, etc.

The watering down of the gospel, teaching the doctrines of man rather than those of God. Even priests will be led astray. (2 Tim 3:5, Matt 15:9). The gospel has been turned upside down in today's world. Churches are preaching their own versions of the gospel.

False prophets and false Christs (Matthew 24:24). There are so many false prophets in today's world. They are wolves in sheep's clothing.

Good will be called evil and evil good. (Isaiah 5:20). Most of us have lost our sense of judgment. Most people cannot distinguish between good and bad.

Worldly knowledge to increase (Daniel 12:4). We have internet and information technology which bring nothing but doom.

Earthquakes, floods, famines, plagues and diseases such as the world has never seen. (Matthew 24 and Luke 21) Haiti earthquake, floods in Pakistan, famine in Africa, HIV/AIDS and other diseases

Peace taken from the earth. Wars increase throughout the earth until war is on every land (Matthew 24 and Luke 21). All we hear today are wars and terrorist activities around the world. We have no peace in today's world

Increase in the wickedness, murder and crime among men. Increase in belief in the occult. (Matthew 24, Luke 21, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 4:3-4). extremely high crime rates in almost every country on earth. Rape, child abuse, violence against women and children, etc.

People will not believe the signs (2 Peter 3:3-4, Matthew 16:1-4). Most people in today's world believe in science more than God the creator of all things. Most people especially in advanced countries don't believe in Christ nor the second coming of Christ.

These and many more signs show that we are in the last days but no man knows the last hour, no man knows the last day, and no man knows the last year. Only God in heaven knows.

the world may end sooner than even Dec 2012. the planet Nibiru will cross our solar system any moment from now and anytime Nibiru crosses our solar system, something very catastrophic happens.

2012, certainly, is not the end of the world. Has anyone even considered that the Mayans ran out of parchment? Perhaps they switched over to another form of transcription to record their calendar, who knows? it is funny how serious people are taking this. what if you die today? your world ends. the world may end anytime. I quite remember several of these predictions. 1994, 1996, 2000, 2005, 2010, even last year we had 2 predictions. May 21 and October 21 but what happened?
