Default The Death Penalty: What if the person was innocent?

Only God can make perfect laws because only God is perfect. The laws of nature are perfect laws because the laws of nature are the laws of God or the creator. It takes a perfect man to make perfect laws but since no man is perfect, man can never make perfect laws. Just a few days ago, a beautiful actress was sentenced to death by hanging in Nigeria in connection with the death of her boyfriend a crime she claims innocent of. I remember a few years ago an innocent man was sentenced to death in Nigeria for a crime he did not commit. The truth of the matter came to light later on but the sad part of the story is that, the innocent man was dead and gone. They murdered an innocent man all in the name of an imperfect law. very sad.

Innocent people are being murdered all in the name of some imperfect/stupid laws. Innocent people are being stoned to death in Iran and in some other Islamic nations sometimes for crimes they did not commit. An innocent woman was stoned to death for committing adultery meanwhile none of those who passed the judgment on her could swear before God most high that they have not committed adultery or fornication in their entire life. An innocent woman was stoned to death all in the name of some stupid laws. Even the Lord God most high forgives people so what is the sense in sentencing someone to death just because they committed adultery? Isn't that a stupid law?
I don't like following foreign stories but I have been reading a lot about Casey Anthony's story on CNN for the past couple of weeks. Casey Anthony's story is now an international story and most of you know the story better than I do so I don't want to repeat it. If you read the story on wikipedia, the first conclusion that comes to mind is "SHE DID IT" but Casey says she is innocent and MAYBE she is innocent. Luckily for her, the law found her not guilty. Casey Anthony may be a murderer for killing her 2 year old baby Caylee Anthony. The death of the poor little baby is very sad indeed but once again, Casey Anthony could be innocent as she claims. I saw a very sad reaction on CNN the day they released Casey Anthony from prison. I saw several Americans shouting KILL HER! KILL HER!! and I asked myself, even if Casey Anthony is a murderer, what is the difference between Casey Anthony the murderer and that blood thirsty crowd shouting KILL HER! KILL HER!!?

We are human beings with limited minds and it is impossible for human beings to make perfect judgments with our limited minds and that is why it makes no sense to kill someone in connection with a crime they claim they did not commit. Those criminals should be punished to serve as warnings. Those wicked people must be punished accordingly. Terrorists like Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden deserved nothing but death because they took pride in hurting others and they accepted all the consequences. However, it makes no sense at all to hang a person who claims innocent. It makes no sense at all to sentence a first time prisoner to death in connection with a crime they claim innocent of. Instead of sentencing them to death, why not just put them in prison for life? Some people will argue it doesn't make sense to use their tax money to serve criminals but does it make much sense to use your tax money to kill innocent people? You pay those judges and law officials just to murder innocent people?
Not every prisoner you see in jail is a criminal. Most of them are innocent. Most of them were falsely accused and sometimes it takes quite a long time before the truth comes to light and that is why it makes no sense to sentence people to death for crimes they claim innocent of.
What do you think?

he who takes the life of another person does not deserve the right to live. If you don't respect the rights of others then why should others respect your right? 99.99% of serial killers released from prison return to the society to harm innocent people. We cannot keep them all in prison for ever so why not eliminate the serial killers?
