Re: Should Women Become Pastors and Priests?
Quote - "A women must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. But I do not allow a women to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the women being deceived, fell into transgression. I Timothy 2: 11-14".
What do I think? I think Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, not Paul.
When Paul was on his way to Jerusalem with a bag full of money and the Holy Spirit of God told him not to go he disregarded the voice of God and went anyway. He chose to disobey the will of God and do what he wanted to do. As far as I am concerned a man that purposely does his own will instead of the Will of God should never be trusted in what he says. So when God says He is no respecter of persons I would have to say in His eyes the worth of a woman is the same as a man. Who is the word of God? Paul or Jesus, the Word made flesh?
I hear the heartbeat, voice and nature of religion asking this question.
What I do not hear is the heart, voice and nature of God in the tenure of this question.
