Personal Belief in the Afterlife - is there life after death?

I think it would be interesting to gather up the board member's personal thoughts and beliefs regarding the afterlife. Do you think that when you die that's it or is there something more to come?

well, I don't know what the scientists are saying but anyway I do belief in the Afterlife.. almost all the major religions in the world belief in Afterlife.. If there is no afterlife then there is no Christianity and maybe no Islam.. Jesus Christ died and rose again says the Christian.. the righteous shall inherit the Kingdom of Allah says the Muslim.. Catholics pray to the virgin Mary because she is in heaven.. reincarnation is a major belief in Hinduism, Buddhism and maybe in Taoism.. even though cannot be proven, I do belief in ghosts..

I too believe in the Afterlife. I was raised to believe the Christian way and truly would not know how to believe any other way. It was just instilled in me so strongly from such a young age. However, I would never tell anyone their beliefs are wrong. We all have the right to believe as we choose.

I believe in the afterlife. I think that every religion is saying something about this. In my country it is believe that the soul of the dead person will roam the earth for 30 days bfore going to heaven.

I don't believe in afterlife.I think it's just a superstition.Nobody knows what happens after death & till now no solid proof have been disclosed.In religious thoughts,we're created from God & hence we'll varnish within Him after death.

It’s better to believe in the afterlife and have some fear of it then nothing at all. If we have fear then we will be more afraid to do such acts as killings and other crimes.

Actually i don't really understand this issue of afterlife. the dead is dead and gone and that's it. all these are just religious believes created to scare people and hence to keep them from doing bad things. i am not saying that this idea per say is bad but saying that there is life after death doesn't sound right to me. It is just a religious belief and we just believe it without any proof.

I do think that there is some kind of after life but I never thought that it was something to be afraid of. I do not think that God is a mean being and that we will be punished for things we did in life. To me, life is a way of learning how to be better not to be scared into being good but to learn how to be good.

I think this is a hard question to answer, as non of us are dead. I believe that when I die I will truely know what is after life, but until then I do like to quess what comes next. For me I like to believe there is something after life.

most Africans believe in reincarnation. it is a traditional belief that our dead relatives and love ones can come back to life but as different people. In my culture it is strongly believed that each and every human being has a time limit to spend on this earth and that a dead one can come back to life to continue the rest of his or her days until the end of the time he or she was destined to live on this earth. in my culture, we believe in ancestral spirits. we believe that this world is just our temporal home and after death, we join our ancestors in the ancestral world. In times like war or in accidents, the dead is given the chance to come back and continue his days on this earth. We believe that our ancestors are always with us. they protect and guide us from evil. they come to us especially in dreams they also walk and eat with us. before a traditional believer drinks, he first pour libation to the ancestors by pouring some of the wine or drink on the ground as a sign of respect for our dead relatives. Not everybody can join the ancestors because our ancestors hate evil. when a bad person dies, it is impossible for the person to come back to life because the person cannot join the ancestors. sometimes these bad people are severely punished by the ancestors. however, when a good person dies, his soul is warmly welcomed by our ancestors and such people can come back to life if they wish.

Good point. Believing in the afterlife doesn’t really need that you have to be afraid of it. We are going to pass away when our time comes and all that matters is how well you spent you life on this planet.

I also believe in life after death. I was high to believe the Christian manner and really did not can believe any other manner. She was just inculcated in me so much strongly of if young age. However, I would never say no matter whom that their beliefs are erroneous. We all have the right to believe while we choose.

I believe in the afterlife, but I would feel a lot better if I had proof of it lol. Sometimes, I get scared and wonder that when we die, if we just cease to exist, but then I start to think about everything I believe in and everything others believe in and it usually makes me feel better. But whether there's an afterlife or not, I try to be a good person and do the right thing, not just so I can go to heaven, but just because.

I believe that there is life after death. That is called our Soul. It is very clear in the bible.

I also believe that there is heaven and hell. Our soul is subject to go in either of the two places.

I believe in afterlife. And that belief strengthen even more when I read the novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven. From then, I realized that things really happen for a reason, no matter how bad or good they are.
