Islam like all other Religions must be respected
A religion, including Islam is to be respected with complete humbleness. A religion is like a school that teaches highest virtues and ethics. More than that, it teaches how you should live and let live, and be a humble son/daughter of the Almighty. The teachings are of greatest values, and it would be a very great achievement if we are able to really live just one word that a religion teaches. If someone doesn't follow any religion, at least that person should try to understand what a religion is. If someone doesn't understand what God really is, at least that person shouldn't say ill-words about HIM. Respecting religions and respecting all the people who believe in any religion IS humility and humanity.
A religion is a relation. A relation with the Almighty. Can you see the electricity, or the power contained in the atom? You can feel it. A religion is extremely powerful, or you can say, power-filled, if you can understand what I mean to say. And, I have felt the POWER so often. A religion is like the love you can have with your dearest one, only a zillion-fold more powerful in the same sense. It really binds you to the greatest power that loves you beyond all things. This is in the simplest form or example that can give you some understanding what a religion really is.
Well, if religion means "Purest form of Love that binds you Gracefully to the Dearest", then it will never hurt anyone, would it? And, Grace is what we get with the purest love, without any condition attached by the one Power who is the Ultimate, and it is given to the one (the erring humans) who doesn't deserve it one bit. We all erring people are the ones who are not worthy, but HE still gives so lovingly And religion teaches to love HIM and all HIS children (us).
If religion teaches us these highest virtues, then how can it hurt anyone??? Respect it dear one.
