Islam and Terrorism: Is Islam a crazy Religion?

First I feel the thread title is not appropriate. A kind of tactic some people use to provoke others.

As far as what Islam is concern, its a complete way of life, the huge number of its followers living in peace and the unconditional acceptance by the thousands of Americans who convert to Islam is a proof of it.

For the killings happening around we have to remember that its the western countries invading them and they fighting for their right against occupation. (if they were evil state why didn't US and allies invade North Korea when they openly tested Nukes, obvious answer North Korea doesn't have OIL)

lastly even if accepted that some people fighting for their freedom is wrong, why is that labeled to their religion. When Hitler killed millions of innocent people it was never attributed to Christianity.

It's just that there are some muslims that are extremely radical, and will do extreme things to get what they want, which is what gives people the impression that Islam is a "crazy" religion

Every religion has extremists, take the crusades for example, lots of killing of the innocent, all done in "the name of God". Hitler was a self proclaimed christian.

All Religions are equal, they all preach equality, compassion, love for one's kind. As far as i know Islam, Christianity, Judaism preach similar things, they just have different prophets. Jews have Moses, Christians have Jesus and Islam has Muhammed. All the preachings are pretty much same.

With all due respect to the Islam or Muslims out there, it really is not a bad religion. I am a Christian and I believe that what trigger some to think that Islam is a crazy religion is because it is associated with people who do terroristic activist, since they have Islam as a religion, we automatically think that if one is Islam, he or she has a tendency to be violent. What these Muslim terrorists do is to conform to their political beliefs and not because of their religion.

In my opinion, Islam is just like any other religion...simple and pure and the one that promotes peace and harmony.

It is the difference in the way the people interpret and follow...that makes the difference. Certain major events that occurred accidentally led to the belief in many muslims world over that they are given step-motherly treatment with respect to the others....This led to the development of hatred within them which made them take up violence which further led to their more exclusion from the general peoples' mindset of being good.

The ball kept on rolling and led to one event after another and now...this rolling ball has taken up a huge size and is becoming a real threat to destroying our mankind.

One does not know how and who will eventually stop this ball from rolling and gathering bigger mass....

All religions are crazy to some extent. The only possible exception is the Amish. Rest of them all preach and believe that their religion is the best and every thing else is wrong. Now as the youngest religion of them all, Islam is a bit more violent than the others. Kids take a little more time before they mature!!

Islam is not a bad religion at all, its just how they interpret and misinterpret the teachings of Islam. It just the same as other religions, that are for peace and for what is right. Islam is a beautiful religion. I recently spent some time in Pakistan and was surrounded by Muslims. Of course I was afraid that extremists might target me because I am an American, but I found the average Muslim in Pakistan to be kind and generous. I have read the Qur'an and studied the Hadith and I continue to do so each day. The more I read and study, the more I am convinced of the beauty of Islam.

If you are talking about Jihads, then the Christians in the past did the same thing called Crusades. These are "religious wars" but like many people have said, these are just extremists using Islam as an excuse. I do not think these people are waging a religious war but the terrorists are just trying to cause chaos in order to attain certain things such as money or power. These 2 things are not part of what religion preaches so Islam is not a crazy religion.

I wouldn't say Islam is a crazy religion, it's sort of a blasphemous to the religion. I am not a Muslim, but if somebody calls my religion crazy that would amount to sacrilege. Islam is NOT a crazy religion. Many hip-hop artists choose Islam because they feel. Not the mainstream hip-hop artists, mind you, but the underground ones that promote peace.

Extremists make anything look bad, and unfortunately only Muslim extremists seem to be making the news these days. I can't really stand any kind of extremist, whether it be religious, political, or just in general. People who think so actually have never tried to learn about Islam. I never heard of someone who has tried to learn about Islam with an open mind and then dislike it. Islam is the religion of peace. Its not only a religion but a complete guideline for people. Which means, as a muslim every step of your life should be approved by Islam and Islam never approves anything harmful or unwise. I think that you could make the case that almost any religion is a crazy religion, if you think about it. One of the central tenets of most religions is that said religion is the ONLY true religion and all other believers are evil or at least misguided. It is only natural that the next step of that is to cause division and possibly even holy wars.

No I don't think that Islam is a crazy religion. In fact, Islam is one of the most well known and well respected religions through out the world. Why you think it's a crazy religion or why you are asking that question is because of the terrorism and all the enemies Islam has.
