Is this life beautiful? What makes life beautiful?

Sometimes, I hear people say this life is beautiful. On other times, I hear these same people say this life is cruel and this life is unfair and may be unsure. What do you think? do you consider this life beautiful? why and why not?
consider poverty in Africa. Consider Poverty in India and consider poverty around the world. Consider the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Consider the war in Sierra Leone which left little children as young as two months old amputated and sometimes killed for no fault of theirs. Consider what is going on in Sudan Darfur where human beings use the skulls of their fellow human beings to drink beer. Consider 9/11 and consider the recent terrorists attack on Mumbai. Do you consider this life beautiful?

Consider the sun, the moon and the stars. Consider day and night. Consider the beautiful birds of different colors that fly high in the sky. Consider the smiles on the faces of a new born babies. Consider the plants and animals in the jungles of Africa. Consider the rivers and streams that flow peacefully on the surface of the earth and numerous creatures of different colors and sizes that swim in the sea. Is this life beautiful? What do you think?

I am positive, mate. Life is indeed beautiful. but sometimes we don't realize the gift we have. So we quarrel, we cheat , we make the world worse. And after sometimes when it comes back to us we wonder why the life is so cruel! Life is neither beautiful nor cruel. It is what we can make out of it. It is what we think it is. That's why we see beautiful smiles in the face of poor peoples all around the world. But, I think, what can be more beautiful, than being alive. I am still alive, that can be the ultimate source of hope and happiness for all.

Life is like a coin. It has two sides. On one side, we see the beauty of nature, on the other side, we see the ugly side of it.

It depends on us. It depends on how we really see nature. If you think positive, or you are going through good stage of life, life will seem beautiful. But life may even seem ugly for us too. Currently, I am having holidays, so life is going really smooth and the nature of life - the birds, the plants and animals, everything seems truly beautiful.

I agree about the coin side of things, life can be the most euphoric thing possible better than any drug etc.

But its also double sided i don't see life in this happy positive light that most do.

This is because i suffer from chronic illness, and the hurt builds up over time when you see everyone else having fun and enjoying themselves whilst you live a restricted horrible lifestyle.

Hopefully my luck will change as i truly feel life could be beautiful.

Life is good and life is beautiful but “beauty” is just part of life because life is how we perceive it. Life is good and life is beautiful because the ONE who created life is the ultimate good and the ultimate beauty. Goodness is a characteristic of life but living life in itself may “not” be that good. Beauty is also a characteristic of life but living life in itself is not all that beautiful. Life therefore is how we perceive it. how beautiful and how good depend on our perception and how we interpret it to meet our little understandings. “Nothing is more necessary than the unnecessary” but that doesn’t mean that the unnecessary is more necessary but just that the unnecessary can be as necessary as those we consider necessary. life in itself is therefore nothing less than the unnecessary because the unnecessary can be as necessary as possible and how necessary we consider life depends on our perception.

For me life was once beautiful, but the position that I'm in right now makes it really hard for me to look on the bright side. I'm struggling of getting a job and working my way through school, but sometimes it gets really rough and I start loosing my nerves so much I can hardy sleep at night.

Of course, life is very beautiful from my point of view . The life is neither astounding nor despotic. It is what we can do out of it. It is what we think that it is. That's why we see smiles of amazement vis-a-vis the thin people all around the world. But, I think, which can be more astounding, than being built-in.

Is life beautiful? Whats your definition of beautiful? I feel like it's great to be alive, vs. being dead, but as of right now, that is all. I'm sure it's a lot worse in other places though. I'm also sure it helps to have someone or something to live for

this life was beautiful in the beginning when God first created it but it has lost its beauty with time and I cannot say this life we are living right now is that beautiful considering all the happenings in the world today. We are living in the end times and everything is coming to an end.

It will not be beautiful if you did not receive it as a beautiful thing.

At first I thought this life was very beautiful but after seeing those pictures from Darfur, I don't see the beauty anymore. This life is rather the hottest part of hell.

See the point is that we have to understand the fact that life is not a bed of roses. It will not be easy forever. The main reason behind that being, had it been easy throughout, we would not have had understood the meaning of tough. And in those tough times, it is advised to remain patient and calm. Life is a journey, there will be ups and downs in it. For me, Life is one of the most beautiful things given to us and we should enjoy it to the fullest !
