Is drinking Alcohol a sin? what makes drinking alcohol sinful?

Is it a sin to drink alcohol? Is drinking a glass of beer sinful? What about a bottle of wine?. I know most people will say it is a sin to drink alcohol but Even somewhere in the Bible Paul was advising Timothy to drink some alcohol because it good for the stomach yet some Christians still believe the drinking of alcohol is a sin especially in Africa. I know too much of everything is bad but what about one or two glasses of chilled beer to cool your day after a hard day's work? What do you think

It should not be considered as a sin if we as speaking from the point of view of a normal person who is not believing in any religion or God.But as we know some of the religions are considering the consumption of alcohol as sin a man believing in that religion has to accept it and has to stay away from it.
But as you said the over consumption of alcohol is bad even from the point of view of neutral men.

Drinking a little alcohol is not and cannot be a sin. As Kofi pointed out where Paul advised Timothy to take some alcohol once in a while cos its good for the stomach, even during the time of the Israelites, they used alcoholic drinks to offer sacrifices to God so indulging in it moderately and once in a while is not bad, but it becomes bad or sinful when you take too much of it which now affects or controls your actions.
