Default If you could change your religion or spiritual path

Imagine yourself changing religions, or spiritual paths, meaning your current religion isn't a choice here.

What religion of spiritual path would you gravitate toward?

I was raised Roman Catholic, but if I had to change, I would gravitate towards the religions that worship the Earth and nature, like Wicca. I have done a lot of research on Wicca, and as well as being attractive because of their beliefs in the spirits of nature, I also appreciate that it is one of the only religions out there that does not focus upon what is "wrong" with other religions. In fact, Wicca doesn't mention other religions ever: your spiritual path is your own, and there is no judgment of people who have chosen another path. Being raised in a Roman Catholic environment, I witnessed a lot of antagonism towards other faiths, and I think that this antagonism is wrong.

I am a Christian and it is very hard to imagine changing my religion, but I have found some aspects of Buddhism very attractive and I have a lot of respect for the way that friends who are Buddhist live their lives, so perhaps I would want to find out more about that.

As for me, Love is my religion and since there is no other religion like Love itself, I am not ready to change my religion.. Christianity teaches love. Islam teaches love. Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Hinduism, Mormonism, etc. all teach love but none is "Love" in itself. So you see, my religion is superior to all these religions and my religion is the highest from the top to the bottom and also the lowest from the bottom to the top. If for a reason beyond my control I should change my religion right now, then I'll choose between these our sister religions " Peace" and "One Heart"

Gloria, your answer reflects my own personal thoughts! In our home we are what most would call universalists. A little bit of everything and not completely one path. We do lean a bit more towards nature inspired beliefs.
I am not sure I can answer the original question posted as I am so diverse in my beliefs.

If I were to change my religion, I think I'd prefer the religions that worship and honor the earth. More Druid in it's orientation I think. I'm also with Gloria in terms of a religion that teaches love and one heart.

I love this answer, it is very much along the lines of my thoughts on the subject. I would say Buddhism is the closest organized religion that I might get interested in, but know that I do not have an adequate knowledge of the various religions to make a absolute decision.

I was born as a Christian and I couldn’t imagine myself changing religion. Although, I’m not a Christian fanatic but I think that it would be hard for me to change my ways since I was raise that way.

No one is born a christian, it is a choice and a faith in what you were taught by people that believed the same. Unless I am mistaken and Christianity is not about accepting the son of a virgin as lord and savior.

I don't have any so called religions. Religions have damaged this world to much allready. And every one of them in the name of "Love".

If I had to have one though, it would be one that held those in charge responsible for the woes of the world. It would be one that did not look at the color of skin and did not care about what god you prayed to.
It would be one that accepted each and every person as who they are, without "transforming" them and having them filled with holy ghosts. Why cannot we accept who we are? Why do we have to be someone that others want us to be? Why do we have to bow down to unseen forces? Why do we have to label and segregate everything? Can't we just be people?

You are right. Love is the most important thing not religion. Love your neighbor as yourself. Accept and respect your neighbor for who he or she is.

What religion of spiritual path would you gravitate toward?

Answer: NONE

RELIGION is nothing more than man defining a god and the way this god acts.

Seek the Spirit of God and He let Himself be found.

Seek the spirit of religion and you will find the spirit of bondage and deception.

Without religion this world would be paradise. Religion causes hatred and distrust instead of unity and love so I agree with Doug. NONE is the best answer.

I hate to say this, but you must have been raised wrong. You family must know little about their faith. Never before have I, as a Catholic, heard any slander towards any religion. Catholics should act as non-fundamentalists. No antagonism here, I stay focused on my faith, while allowing others to choose their own path.
