Would It Be Better To Bring Back Hanging?

If you look at major crimes, so many are punished so unjust it's angering. Some rapists get maybe no more than a year for ruining someone's life.
So has it ever crossed anybodys mind that hardly anyone would dare to commit a crime if they faced being hung 'till death? Obviously standards could be set, like speeding would perhaps only be a fine and the hangings would not be public, but in some cases I think the victorians had the right idea.
Too many people want to get into prison because of not paying tax and also because of the circulation of drugs, so perhaps it would show criminals that crime doesn't pay? After all, the majority of people would agree life is an important value...

No, I don't think it would be better to bring back hanging. What you're really talking about is changing the degree and the type of punishment to make it more serious to scare people from committing crimes. If thats something you think is worth persuing, there are better ways of going about it (imo). We already have the death penalty in place, and hanging is really just a more inhuman way of going about it.

There are plenty of issues with the prison system but I don't think that is the solution for them.
