Default Will this country ever be back to "normal"?

What changes do you think will come about when our new president comes into office? Will we ever be back to the way things use to be? I think it would take nothing less than a miracle to get back to the times when gasoline and groceries were actually affordable, healthcare was more easily available, the drug problems weren't nearly as bad, and we had peace with other countries again. What do you all think?

But miracles do happen - if we pray hard enough and do our part in making it a reality. The world today needs a lot of prayers, and a lot of warm, caring people to make a difference. Let's do our part in making it a better place to live in!

I agree if everyone does their part then there is always the chance that we can witness a miracle and watch as things get back on track. Though I do not believe everything will be the same nor do I believe it should be. Life is about change and hopefully some day the miracle we witness will not be things going back to how they were but being better then they have been.

Yes, things will get back to normal, they always do. It's just a matter of waiting it out. I've noticed that the pendulum might swing very far to the right or left but eventually it stops in the middle. That's what will happen. We will get back to our normality eventually.

Exactly! I do not believe that we should count on our Government to do everything for us. We need to take some responsibility to get things back on track. If not, it will take forever before we see changes.

Smile Normal

What really is normal here in America? Life styles change as technology changes over our entire existence really. That is just how life works. Something is invented and then life changes if the masses adapt to it. I agree that life should not, and cannot, turn back in time. However what we really need to do is evaluate how we can embrace changes in ways to be more responsible.

Ask yourself what you are doing today that will effect generations in the future, as our ancestors have done over the years, providing your life as you know it today. I mean how do you want our generation today to be remembered many years from now? What type of earth will they live in based on how you leave it to them after you are gone? It may sound like the same old line you heard before, but it is real life. Normal will be whatever we make it in the future. I think we have more power together to make a difference much more than people might think. The Internet is really made up of many people across the globe, so now millions of everyday people, not government, are together creating what 'normal' life will mean tomorrow.

Unhappy It's all very sad

I'm disheartened when I read these posts, you are all so dumbed down, you know something is wrong, but you havn't got a clue what, or why, or how, but you think if you just wait it will all become better again. You are so wrong, some of us knew about this some years ago, it will not get any better, it will get a lot worse, the money rules, who has the money rule, your government has been bought and paid for, you have no say anymore as our governments are gradually changing into dictatorships, and our Constitutions, and rights are scrapped. So there is only bleak days ahead, even praying will not save our future. It can be saved, but I don't think it will.

I am not sure that will happen for a while to come. Maybe if they step up to the plate and start doing something now we can make a big difference however I am not so sure. It has been seen that as of late they are taking there sweet time about doing anything.

I do believe that all good things will be happened.Time has changed & if you think that the price of commodities would be lowered, then you're wrong.Earnings of people has increased & in a similar manner the commodities price has increased.

I think the relation with other nations would be developed.New president will have to change the foreign policy,so that a good cordial relationship will be maintained with other nations.

that will take a very long time. America can get back on track but that isn't going to be this year or the next. It will rather take a long time. that's just what i think

Well, it's a much sad fact that we are far behind, we are one of the best, but the corrupt governments made us poor and starving nations of the world. Yes, as you said, lets hope for a miracle. But i think condition had improved slightly, but we need help of the developed nations for surviving from this condition. The change of attitude of US is a spat on the face. Lets see if anything goes good for us. Hope for good.

The aliens will save us!! Okay, I'm done with my sci-fi rant for the day...I promise hehe.

If (and thats a big IF) the country ever goes back to normal, it will take some time. Unfortunately we live in a society, where we won't accept that, we have to have things instantaneously, otherwise its just too slow. But I don't think the question should be if this country will ever be back to normal, but more like will this world ever be back to normal. Has it ever been normal? From what I remember as soon as agriculture was discovered we've been on a downward slope.
