Will Good Education Bring Peace?

Will good education bring peace to this region? The countries are chiefly dependent on oil for their prosperity, but till when it will help them? Any nation that really prospers have very strong education institutions present as the foundation of prosperity of that nation. To become self-sufficient and remove fear --- fear of wars, will need greater understanding among the neighboring regions or countries. With strong educational institutions, they can have greater interaction and a flow of better and constructive ideas in between them. There could be better solutions for peace in this region of our world, but proper education will surely benefit all of them. Wars can only bring more wars and destroys peace. Modern education will be a boon. Hope we soon see everlasting peace in this great region.

I think education will serve to benefit the people. Even though it may not necessary guarantee peace, it least they'll be informed of the negative repercussions of war and how it will have large scale effect on the entire population.

But whether war will be stopped ultimately depends on the decisions of the individuals and their mindset and character.

If most of the people get quality education then the nature of the mid east will change for good. The existing madrassa education is going to create more and more fanatics or terrorists only. The authorities need to give the kids the right to question the beliefs and that would help in bringing a robust democratic atmosphere in to the middle east.

i think good and proper education can really bring peace not only to the middle east but everywhere. some people just needs to know that not everything can be settled by warfare and nuclear weapons, but a good, peaceful and sincere talk can heal every wound and can patch things up.

I don't think that good education can bring peace. There will always be people who are idiots, with of without a diploma. It just depends on what kind of person you are. I mean you see these terrorist, they get the highest degree of education they can get and yet they still decide to kill themselves and innocent people around them.

Highly doubtful. Was the middle east ever at peace anyway ? Who really ran it ? When has it ever shown signs of hope ? These are the real questions you should be considering, plus a lot more logical in my opinion..

Good education is a good starting point, but in itself, it will not be the thing to bring peace. What can and will bring peace is a total separation of religion and state in all countries, freedom of speech, and proper democracy.

I say freedom of speech because if a country controls what opinions it's residents are allowed to view, it controls what they believe. If it controls what the people believes then this would circumvent democratic principles because people would not know fully all sides of what parties they were voting for.

If you notice, healthy democracies NEVER wage war against other healthy democracies. The only times democracies go to war is when a theocratic or dictatorial nation is either directly threatening the democracy, or when there is such a severe humanitarian crisis that the democracy has to intervene on moral and humanitarian grounds. For this reason, I say that free speech and democracy is THE KEY to world peace.

Education won't necessarily bring peace but I think education can help a lil' bit
cause people will get to understand each other communicate with each other
understand war and it consequences an educated person always act responsible

aside from that this theory is not correct if we take real example who helped in way or another to start a war take for example Osama, zawahiri ....and Bush Dickcheny these are educated gentlemen but they produce war

In my opinion, there is definitely no relation between education and peace. What that gives peace to the mind is the satisfaction with what we have, not any wealth or any kind of education . Education can only give you knowledge of the world but not peace. If everyone in this world either rich or poor is satisfied with their life, there will be no violence, no wars.

Good education can bring peace but in situations where people are not ready to change especially the religious extremists, good education can't work.

What the world needs most is love and not mathematical knowledge. Good education is the key to world peace. We must teach love in schools. we must teach children how to love and the importance of love. Good education will bring peace if we make love the major part of our education system.

Good education may not necessarily bring peace. It is only a gateway to knowledge and well-being for some who desire the job they always wanted through education. Peace has to come from within it is not something that can be forcefully taught to someone.

Proper education is the stepping stone for peace. But when you look back at the world can you give at least one country's name that has full peace and which also has high literates in it??

Of course. All we need is good education. Education is not just going to the classroom and reading heavy novels. I think we must include religious education because only religious and moral education can bring world peace. The major problems facing the world today are religious extremism and intolerance. If people are educated I think this will help solve major issues facing the world today. so yes good education can bring peace.

Personally I think that education is one of the keys to open the "chest of peace" , you cannot bring peace with only one solution or in this example you cannot open the "chest of peace" with just one key.

Education is one of the key for peace, but not the modern day education.
The way the children today are educated is to bring prosper and gain money for themselves, the country etc... This is where is already goes wrong, people know the price of everything but the value of nothing... they always think in the way " what's the best for me" and that is because the education system is to abstract.

We live in a world where there are almost no more "country borders" , I can go and study and work in almost every country that I want. But these "country borders" have been replaced by "social borders". We are unable to know what someone of an other religion, region, economic class, country, continent wants.... And that is why everybody is being raised in a wrong way these days.

A citizen is becoming more and more a "World-citizen", but our education stays a "country-education".
The education system needs to change, the education system needs be changed in a way we learn about the world and other countries,other cultures etc...

The basics of an education topic like economics or maths or science have to be learned, but there is a need in a larger study efficiency, there is a need in knowing other cultures better because that is the one of the "keys" to open the "chest of peace". Because to be honest it's there where it all goes wrong, in a world where a citizen is becoming a world citizen, we cannot understand each other....

So my conclusion is : yes education in one of the keys to peace, but it has to be changed in a certain way that our eyes are being opened to see, learn and accept other cultures.

Yes, I think that only low educated persons like to be involved in some argue, to be involved in war and killings!
