Barack Obama will more than likely win the US presidential election. That’s if the American people have any say so (We all remember what happen 8 years ago...
) I honestly don't think it will have anything to do with his character or the fact that he was considered to be the "underdog". I think that the American people blame all of the country’s current problems on republicans and will not want another republican in office, no matter what he promises.

I think things are getting rather rough for Barack Obama these days. during the primaries, people were easily consumed by his inspiring messages but i don't see this magic working anymore. Most people are rather criticizing whatever Obama says. McCain who was lagging in the early polls is now leading in major polls which shows Barack Obama is not finding things as easy as he thought would be in the beginning of this race.

My fellow Americans,
In the past, there have been many American's who have not used their right to vote for who represents them. The founding fathers gave us this right so that the power could be held by the people, and by not using it, we are leaving the power among the elite few. As there is an election coming up, we must participate in this right. I am currently involved with a video trying to convince Americans to do so. It is unbiased, and we hope it will inspire others to do their part. The video can be viewed here: youtube.com/watch?v=o4kg514DcTA All feedback is appreciated. Thank you. |

I love Africa

If all the blacks continue to vote for Barack Obama as they did during the primary elections, then there is no doubt that Barack Obama will enter the white house. There was this discussion on cnn world news on how most blacks vote because of race and color which i think isn't the best. I am not a Jehovah witness and i do vote in my country however, i think that the situation where one votes because of his race or color doesn't show maturity at all. We people in Africa and around the world takes America as our role model and we try to imitate the American democracy and how things work and when such things happen in the American system, it tends to affect almost all around the world. My country Ghana votes 2008 and instead of a national issue, this coming election is turning into tribal issue. Every tribe wants to elect the president.

I think that, that statement is wrong. About 90% or more of African Americans are Democrats, and at the beginning of the race about half were voting for Hillary. After you saw the way she ran her campaign it would be hard to keep that route, when you saw the animosity. Also Blacks have voted in all prior elections that they could, all candidates being white. So if it were on the other foot you would probably see whites doing the same. Or you can even go as far to guess that if their were 2 black candidates running, the white turnout might not be so strong.

well, we are in extraordinary times and i think America needs nothing less than an extraordinary president. A president the allies can trust and a president the enemies will fear. A president full of experience and a president who can protect and defend America. Remember America first. Barack Obama can win but saying that Barack Obama "will" win is not that clear to me. Barack Obama is eloquent but eloquent is not experience and i don't think America is ready to take any chances. As Fred Thomson said, we could trust Bill Clinton because He was a very experienced guy and he delivered just that. In the case of Obama, America has to take chances and as i said earlier on, we are in crucial times. The enemy is ready to strike and i don't think this is the time America has to be taken chances. "Saying" is not "doing" and putting forward lofty ideas doesn't necessarily mean accomplishing them when the time comes. Strong and experienced president is all America needs in these crucial times and I personally think that John McCain is the right guy.
Most People just need nothing but a change. Remember that a change is not just a change. A change can be a positive change or a negative change. America needs nothing less than a positive change and a positive change does not come from lofty ideas. |

Obama has a good chance of winning, but McCain is a tough competitor. Plus the Republicans seem to have been taking over the White House lately so that has given him a major advantage. I just hope that the election is won fairly.

I believe, or at least hope, that the voters here in the United States are smarter than to buy into John McCain's BS. Even if Barack Obama IS a muslim, why is that so wrong? Since when is it a crime in America to have other beliefs than the Baptists, or Catholics, or Mormons? If John McCain and the republicans want to spread things like that around like it is such a bad thing, then that is not American and that is not someone I want as my president.

There is this saying that when people start talking about you that means that you are very popular.
The same is happening now with Barrack Obama. He is a definitely going to go to the White House. McCain and Palin won't do much dent. |

I know it's cliche to blame the media, but the seem to give us all super short term memories. I remember (quite specifically) that the 2004 election was THE most important election of our lives due to the Iraq war. Now this election is THE most important election of our lives due to the economy. Next time is gonna be THE most important election due to some other horrible event. They really push certain issues on us and make it harder to let us step back on our own and make a balanced decision. I'm just gonna be excited when this whole thing is over (even though it's majorly important).
