Will America's debt catch up to us?

Will America's debt catch up to us? I heard somewhere we borrow 5-10 billion dollars a day just to keep our country going. When is this ever going to catch up to us? Currently I believe we are around 10,000,000,000,000$ in debt. Most of that debt is to ourselves, but a growing amount is to other countries.
