Re: Where do you think Osama bin Laden is?
I believe that he is probably been kept out of sight by fellow fanatical murderers. For all we know he could be in any Islamic country dressed in a Burkha so as to avoid detection. I think that the most probably locations would be:
1. Saudi Arabia - His family might have publicly condemned his actions, but that doesn't mean that there isn't one or two family members willing to assist him either in the form of harbouring him as a fugitive, or giving him financial assistance.
2. Pakistan - This country is a likely location, given that it shares a border with Afghanistan and it would have been quite easy for him to cross that border. He likely has allies there who would assist him in remaining undetected. If those protectors are members of the Pakistani Government, there is the potential for this terrorist to have access to a nuclear arsenal... quite frankly this is scary.
3. Iran - He could be hidden by the Iranian government. This could work on the principle of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'. Both Al-Quaida and the Iranian government share the common enemies of Israel and the West. If Iran becomes a nuclear power, then this option is just as frightening as the possibility of him being in cahoots with the Pakistani government.
4. Syria - Syria is Irans puppet. If Bin Laden cannot be safe in Iran, he might well be hidden in Syria.
5. Afghanistan - What if he actually never left Afghanistan and has remained hidden by wearing a Burkha... he could walk around freely and nobody would notice him.
Then there is another possibility: He might be dead.
I did read somewhere that he had kidney problems, but this appeared to be more speculation and rumor than confirmed fact.
There is also the possibility that he could have been killed, perhaps even by his own henchmen who wanted to seize power.
Even so, it is internationally embarassing that the Coilition Forces have been unable to ascertain the location of this monster and should he still be alive bring him to justice. I sometimes wonder if he will ever be found.
