What is Equality? Mass Immigration and the lies of the Labour Party
I am posting this article because I believe that the notion of 'equality' has become skewed throughout the Western world. I will attempt herein to explain what true equality is, and what it is not, and how this skewed understanding came about.
Many countries are passing equality laws, and while some of these laws are beneficial and necessary, others are actually creating more problems than they solve. Some of these laws even create an inequality whilst attempting to cure a percieved inequality which doesn't actually exist. The unintentional and misguided creation of inequality by the politically correct elite undoubtedly has a detrimental impact of community cohesion, and leads to an increase in people either taking the law into their own hands, or voting for fringe hate parties.
So, what can we do about this problem? Firstly we have to understand what equality really means before we can attempt to legislate it, if indeed, legislation is needed in the first place.
Real equality means that regardless of ones race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status, in the eyes of the law, all will have the same rights, the same access to public services, and all will be given a fair trial if accused of a crime. This is a noble aim towards which every society should aspire.
However, many countries have enshrined on their lawbooks the idea that when a person speaks out about a greivance caused by a group of people whom they consider hostile, it is regarded as a 'hate crime'. While for the most part, European nations still have some respect for Freedom of Speech, but this freedom is being gradually eroded.
Consider this: If a group of foreign born people were to criticize western civillization because of it's flaws, this is legal and perfectly fine. If a westerner were to criticize Sharia Law, it is considered a hate crime. In effect, what's happening here is that one group is permitted their freedom of speech, where another is denied it. In short, an inequality has been created where there was previously an equality.
When and how did the right not to be harmed include the right not to be offended by what somebody else might say?
It's been a slow process of course, all done in the name of Human Rights... but do we truly have the right not to have to face an opinion that makes us feel uncomfortable. I might think it bizarre if somebody prays to the God of cheddar cheese, I might think that such a person was crazy... but I would not want that person to be denied their right to talk about their cheese God, however much it made me want to step slooowly away from them. Likewise, a person criticizing the belief in a cheese God should also be given their free speech. Wrong ideas crumble on their own when the light of freedom of speech (and therefore the freedom of information) is shined upon them.
This particular inequality is dangerous: Preventing freedom of speech is preventing honest discussion. Preventing honest discussion prevents real solutions to grievences, real or imagined. The denial of freedom of speech is a form of mass mind control, as the mind can only be controlled by the various opinions that one is exposed to or not exposed to.
True equality can only exist under freedom of speech, careful examination of the facts, and refraining from emotional hot-button words like 'racism' where no racism exists. A real and true racist will not advertise their racism because to be called a racist would be to lose all credibility... such a racist would only seek to vote for a hate party (such as the BNP). Don't get me wrong, some people really are racists, but those people are very few in number.
When somebody talks about the error of uncontrolled mass immigration, the chances are, they don't have any racist inclinations at all. They might be concerned about losing their job to cheap foreign labour, they might be concerned about the strain the extra numbers is putting on public services (the NHS maternity services are already struggling), they might be concerned about foreign criminals who have come here fleeing justice in their home country, and understandably, they might worry about what impact such large numbers of a foreign culture is going to have on their own home community. To call a person with such concerns a 'racist' is not only inaccurate, it's insulting and a deliberate attempt to attack the person raising these concerns rather than addressing those concerns.
Then there is the erroneous belief that all religions are equal because they all teach the same things. I don't even know how anyone can seriously believe that in the face of so much evidence to the contrary. A religion based in peace and love will always be superior to one based on 'us vs them'. So while believers of all religions should be treated equally, suppressing discussion about religion on the basis of it causing offence is a moral outrage. How easily do the lies of the elite crumble even on superficial scrutiny?
I am not surprised that so many people are annoyed and infuriated. I feel annoyed and infuriated myself, but I absolutely refuse to hate the immigrants who are being given preferrential treatment by the PC elect. Hate is a counterproductive emotion which leads to more misery for everyone, including the person doing the hating.
What I do find appalling is that the Labour Party has persistently ignored the wishes of the native working classes in Britain, the people who it supposedly stands for. It is a massive bureaucratic machine which is not only self-serving, having been seduced by power, but is also self-righteous. It thinks it knows better than the people, and whenever a problem shows up, it attempts to legislate it's way out. Most of this is because it has to be seen to be doing something about it, and of course, most of these 'solutions' are worse than the problems they intended to solve.
What we need is a return to the highest values that the West has to offer:
1. Freedom of speech for all
2. True equality for all
3. A true democracy where politicians actually listen to the wishes of their voters.
Nothing short of abiding by the three principles above will restore sanity to not only this nation, but other nations suffering similar problems. David Cameron, I hope you're reading because it looks like you're set to win the next election.
