What are your views on an open marriage/relationship?

In today's world we are seeing an alarming number of divorces and adultery. I have seen some couples who are having an open marriage where they are allowed to have flings or short term affairs with other partners. This can result in fewer divorces.
what do you think ?

I don't think open marriages would work for most people because jealousy comes into play.

But I have known a few couples who had open marriages and to be completely honest they had the best marriages of all the friends I have ever had. And they slept around much less than the people I know who are supposedly "committed" to one another. Go figure!

I would not want that for my own life, but I think it is perfectly fine if the two parties are ok with it. I think we are all free human beings, and we have the right to live as we choose. I don't think it is fair to judge other people, who have different beliefs, and ways of living. I have an open mind, and do not like to place judgment on other people for who they choose to be with, and how they choose to live.
