What are your thoughts on inter-racial relationships/marriages?

The trend of inter-racial relationships is not really new but is gaining increasing acceptance in today's society. Especially in developed countries like America and UK where many immigrants settle every year.
Also there are many inter-racial celebrity couples in the spotlight (eg. Heidi Klum amd Seal , Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush etc) which has led to more awareness. Children from such marriages also grow up to be tolerant human beings representative of many cultures. What are your thoughts ?

You are right. I remember sometime in the past, it was a taboo to marry a white lady or a white man in Ghana. It was even a taboo to marry someone from another tribe within the country. However, things are really going on well these days and you can marry anyone you like no matter the color, race nor gender. People are now seeing the light and the need to come together as one people.

you are right, it's a big trend and i think it'll increase in the future. It's a historic trend and it shows the people/nations/cultures are growing together due to less wars and international diplomacy, open boarders, open skies, free trade. Inter-racial relationships are just the logic consequence of the increased inter-cultural communication. Of course the fast progress in communications technology has done it's part too and will continue to be a big driver to connect cultures and races all over the world.

I have zero issues with inter-racial relationships and/or marriages. As a matter of fact, I happen to think that they are of no real difference then any other relationships and/or marriages. To me, race, color, size, shape, status, etc is all one and the same; no one is better than the other, no one is worse, all of us are equal. In my opinion, I say, let's bring forth the worlds many colors, mix them up if so desired and then see what wonder comes out of them. After all, we can always use more and, let's face it.....

I have no problem with inter racial marriage. To me, If you look at a northern European and a Ethiopian, you can see obvious differences, but there is middle ground. So much so that I've seen people that I couldn't assign a race to. I believe skin colur is a largely a continuum that we try to divide up to suit our purposes.

I've been told that there is more diversity within a "race" than there are differences if you try to compare to races. I've also been told that there is no "race" gene.

People in different parts of the world tended to look a bit different because that's the way their gene pool moved toward. This was due to isolation. Now the world is more global and not as isolated.

Inter Racial relationships are very essential for evolution of our species . Humans today are very different from what they were centuries ago . Only because of this have we developed and adapted to different places

It was accepted in developed societies since long , its a good thing that now its being accepted elsewhere too . It can only benefit us

I myself would not marry someone of a different race or even date them for the simple reason I am not really attracted to them however I am attracted to girls with the same skin color as me. I have nothing against inter-racial relationships and would never stare or tell someone they are disgusting for doing it however some people do stop and stare in disgust

I really do not see a problem with interracial relationships and marriage, because I don't see it as being any different from marrying somebody of the same race. People are people, it's who we are as human beings, not the physical colour of our skin or other physical attributes that make any relationship a good thing or a bad thing.

I think that people who have a problem with interracial relationships have problems with it more due to cultural and religious differences than merely the fact that there are two races involved. These barriers are far stronger than the barrier of race. Regardless of what race a prospective date was, I would not date either a Muslim or a Scientologist of any race on the basis that neither of these religions has any tolerance for non-believers (Islam calls them infidels, Scientology calls then Suppressive Persons).

I will not go in opposition but they are rarely successful. There are many differences which originate with time and become big issues. I might be wrong but i believe that inter racial marriages are quite scary to tackle and handle.:o
