The Importance of Education - Education losing Its Importance?

In today's world of immense competition and when extra-ordinary talent demands are high..... Do u think that Education still has its own superior position itself.
When industries doing outsourcing like call centers, BPO and recently the LPO's are donating a huge amount of revenues and these industries don't differentiate based on the candidates educational qualification until his communication skills are excellent....

surely education is loosing its importance slowly
today even if a student doesn't score well in his 12th board exams, he still has 100's of courses and career options to choose. so considering this, even a student does not give that much importance to studies as much as he should give

Well I would say Education is very important for any individual, the main reason because even if there are bad times and you are short of money, one thing always remains with you and that is education

BPO sectors and call centres do not generally pay big salaries and also make you work lot of hours. With increased competition, one-you should work hard and get good scores, and two- with good education, you should always have good reading writing skills so that you've something more than the other competitors.

Education has never lost it's importance and never will. It is the primary requirement of any individual who wants to succeed in life and build up a source of bread and butter for himself and his family. Also more importantly education helps build up a person's character which is very important

Education is the key to human advancement. We must strive to learn new things and create new technologies to improve this world.

To suggest that people should not strive for the best education possible is detrimental to not only their well being but for the overall well being of this planet.

If you don't learn something new every day then you wasted a day of your life.

Education is losing its importance due to the large amount of fees and donations required to take admissions in various courses at different colleges. Due to this, a middle level person can't able to give high level of education to his son. Moreover, amount of unemployment is also increasing day by day.

Yes Education is loosing it's Importance ,It you know what ? it is because of your educational system,Students are increasing but our educational system not improving as well as the education places, there are many but the Quality is really poor, Government doing nothing on these things, You can see there have many good schools, but when it comes to University it is very less, id anyone want to get good education he/she have to paid good amount of money,that is the problem,our government should take some step now

Personally I would say it's gaining importance.
That being said, in North America.
In Canada, Prime Minister Steven Harper is improving Universities, and due to the thousands of applicants, and the percentage of applicants increasing year by year, expanding to build more Universities, and increasing the minimum expectations to be accepted.
I know that in the USA, Barack Obama is doing the same.
I don't know about your country, but I disagree with that from my point of view.

I think there are two ways of looking at this...education is not losing its importance in the conventional sense. Degrees and educational qualifications are still the primary measure of a candidate's competency and higher education is most definitely of high importance..

But school level education seems to have become less important in my view..as the subjects dealt with in school don't seem to have an impact on what follows...apart from some general awareness and communication skills, not much comes in too much use later on in life..
