Terrorism is a threat
Terrorism is growing in each & every part of the world.Specifically,it's more in muslim countries like Pakistan. It's a real fact.My intention is not to blame either the muslims or to Pakistan people.I think they are also facing problem due to terrorism.Lots of their relatives, friends are dying everyday. So they're much more affected than others. They don't support it,but they're unable to stop it.The higher leaders are involved in this nasty policy & the innocent people are suffering. Global Terrorism and Religious Fanaticism Pardon me for clubbing Terrorism with Religion. My effort is just an attempt to throw open my concerns that the world is leading to. Most or maybe all mass scale violence these days, could be remotely linked to some sort of religion or ethnic group. And with weapons freely available in the marketplace, parts of the world are easily becoming killing fields. And in most of the incidents the common man suffers, either directly or indirectly. ----------- Britni |

Repost
The California Anti-Terrorism Information Center was formed in the wake of the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon to provide law enforcement with statewide intelligence support to combat terrorism.Through the Center, law enforcement agencies in California for the first time will be able to obtain information on terrorist threats and activities anywhere in the state through a secure, central data base. ![]() ----------------- Madelyn |

Without a doubt terrorism is a problem, but the way the current governments are handling it is quite inefficient.
Take the Bush administration for instance, they go invade a country that doesn't want them there in the first place and force American values down their throats, that's not the way to handle things. |

Its hard to nail down an enemy that is so nebulous when every war you ever fought was more "traditional." Its tough just to through the DoD into reverse and deal with this problem. I think we're doing ok(ish), but there is still a lot of work to be done.

DarkTimes...Maybe you should ask the families who had members raped, tortured and killed at the hands of Saddam. Maybe you missed the parts of all the mass graves that have been found with thousands of bodies in each. Oh...but I guess thats Ok. And how are we forcing American values down their throats?...gee..last I looked ..I haven't seen any Kentucky Fried Chicken places popping up.

Terrorism is surely a threat to the world, but we also have to go to the root of the problem. I mean ask real questions like Who are these terrorists, why are they fighting, how can we solve issues diplomatically rather than collateral-damage. I had seen a documentary where it said, terrorists are born mainly because of revenge, when their family members are killed in War or in state sponsored genocide.

Yes problem of terrorism is a serious threat to world wide community, and most of the victims in Asia of terrorism are muslims, so that indicates that muslims are not terrorist it is misconception and neither Islam allows terrorism.. It is up to us how to handle this problem i mean to get ourselves educated....

I think that we need to be aware of terrorism threats and that governments sometimes don't reveal all.
Also I think some of the precautionary measures are ridiculous. I can light a match as easily as a lighter on an airplane...... I think that everyone does need to be prepared and that would greatly help...maybe have a disaster kit ready?? |

Terrorism is a serious threat. If it was not then why would there be so much security to prevent an attack. I hardly think the government just wants to pay people to stand around and watch what others do. They have a reason behind having security in airports and that is for anti terrorism control.

Yes, terrorism is a real threat worldwide, however people just cannot demonize an entire group of people for the acts of just a few.
Over the course of this last election, the 't' word was dropped from one of the candidate, and the ensuing firestorm that came from it was detrimental to one campaign. What I am saying is: Keep the focus on the real terrorists, who pose a real threat to good citizens worldwide, and let's not go chasing windmills like Don Quixote, calling any and every body with loose connections to former terrorists a terrorist. Timothy McVeigh, too, was a terrorist! Yet no one would classify the average white American male as a terrorist. Muslims deserve the same level of respect. |

Yes, I agree that terrorism is really a threat worldwide. We really need to give an iron fist on these terrorists, they need to be really exterminated like ants and pests. We shouldn't give them mercy as they are cold-blooded killers and psychopaths; they didn't even pitied the little kids and infants that they slaughtered to death in their missions to conquer the world. They even sacrificed their own brothers and families while conducting these missions. They are just doing it for power only and don't think of what the general populace would think and feel.

Terrorism is a real and very vicious threat.
It is rampant in most countries of the world and what is really bad about it is...the targets of such activities are mainly innocent people. Terrorism has to be firmly nailed down or else it would play havoc to many great nations. World is still far less organized when dealing with this problem and each country seems to be on his own when fighting it. There is definitely a need for collective effort in this regard if we want this menace to be completely eradicated from this world. Regards, Walker |

I've been very aware of the terrorist threat my whole life so I personally think a little loss of freedom here and there is a small price to pay if the result is to be able to arrive at my destination, go shopping and come home happy each day....... However, it does seem silly that there were all those guards and just you, and they didn't even ask to look at your pictures and try to assess if you were a threat to anyone or anything, or just enjoying a harmless hobby......

There are terrorists of all types and hues from all over the world. Muslim terrorists like Al Qaeda, Jemah Islamiya etc, Hindu terrorists like LTTE, VHP, Bajrang Dal etc and christian terrorists like IRA, KKK etc are just a few to name. Muslim terrorists are the most well known in the 21st century as they have the credit(?) for the most number of attacks in recent years.

Terrorism is a problem and also a threat which a lot of countries may be facing today but I think that its a good thing that government of different countries are doing their best to prevent it and protect the citizens by increasing security and also constantly reminding the citizens to be more vigilant.
I'm not really sure why the terrorist are trying to harm so many people and bring such large scale destruction and unrest to the countries, but I think its important to know the root cause of the problem in order to find a solution to it.... |

These Human Rights groups will scream for terrorist and their families
news channels like NDTV will show the TERRORISTS families like VICTIMS what about the innocent people were killed what about their families... all they care about is AFZAL GURU and not the brave SOLDIERS who lost their lives FOR PROTECTING THE citizens. |
