Taliban wants to set Islamic state in Afghanistan

Taliban commander want to create an Islamic State in Afghanistan and to bring Sharia law back to the country. Big moves are likely to wait until the next US president takes office, and the consensus in any case is that the situation on the ground isn't right yet.

They are claiming that , there is nothing to talk about and it is not a political campaign for policy change or power sharing or cabinet ministries, they are waging jihad to bring Islamic law back to Afghanistan.

They want an Islamic world. They are starting with the middle east and then they have plans to expand it to the whole world. Afghanistan is just a starting point. They have supporters in Somalia in Africa too. Their ultimate goal is to take over the whole world.

I believe that Afghanistan should have the freedom to be an Islamic state if they want to. It they wish to govern themselves under Islamic law then what is the problem? Why must the United States attempt to impose their culture on everyone? Islamic law is not the great evil that Americans would like to believe it is. Sure there are some interpretations of the law that I don't agree with, but if a people wish to choose it then it is their concern.

I think religion and government must strictly be seperated. That's how it's done in turkey and they are very sucessful with it. They even talking to the european union about joining. Even though they have inner problems and they disagree with western countries on many social issues. This examples shows who well islamic & christian nations can live together and do business.

I agree with the previous poster, religion and state MUST be separate. When the two are combined the result is always disasterous. If they don't separate religion and state then they can never have a true democracy, and every country SHOULD be a democracy.
