World leaders meet to discuss peace over and over again, but weapons are been manufacture every day, if we really love peace and one another what is the main purpose behind the manufacture of these weapons?

Weapons are not bad. bad is the bad use of it. weapons can protect the powerless general people. It can be used to destroy bad people. It can be used for peace also. but people should be aware how and where they are using it.

you have a good point here but I do not believe in the use of guns and bombs as a means of protection. Let me use Africa for example. In the olden days when there were no guns and bombs, there were still tribal wars in Africa and even it used to be very frequent in those days but one thing is that, the death toll in those days were very very low as compared to today because it is very difficult to beat one person to death with your bare hands or even with sticks than to kill a person with just a bullet shot. Even in tribal wars, women and children were not killed but rather taken as slaves because it was a taboo to kill a woman or a little child in war. A bomb blast on the other hand does not distinguish between men and woman or even children.

I don't think the world decided that we love peace. The thing is, we don't know what's going on in other people's minds, so we make these weapons just in case. Self-defense is always a good thing, because you obviously don't want to die! Also, the best we can do is set standards for war, such as the land mine ban.

Manufacturing weapons now is a must for self defense against other countries and self defense against terrorism too. Moreover, nowadays, I don't think any country would feel safe without any guns and weapons.

Even if all countries come on an agreement that no one will fight with each other and stop use of guns and all, but still, each country manufacture weapons daily so as to have tighter security. Weapons are not bad, but are badly used

As has been highlighted above, the problem with today’s society is that if another political “enemy” acquires weapons or new technology then our governments are naturally compelled to match them whether it’s through fear or self preservation. There is of course a great deal of money made by weapons manufacturers that also supports the economies of certain countries worldwide – perhaps something that is overlooked in major countries of manufacture such as the USA.

Weapons are manufactured so abundantly for one very simple reason - they will be bought. The US goes through weapons like Cheetos.

When new models of weapons are available, new weapons are bought, old ones are discarded (the defense industry's influence on government spending guarantees this cycle). Discarded meaning sold to the highest bidder, often without much regard to who that bidder may be.

Those weapons then trickle down to the poor countries where they are used for anything but self defense.

I've always said it's the man behind the gun. Initially these weapons are solely used for protection, or put aside for a time in need. However, as you can see everyday in some places now a days is considered "a time in need".
