Default Protecting Indigenous People and cultures around the world

My great great grandfather had no shoes and he had no sandals but I have shoes and I wear sandals. We are in the age of computers and science. We are in the age of the internet and information technology. Cars move on paved roads, Planes fly in the air, ships float on the sea, and trains move on rails. There are even rockets and satellites on the moon which is amazing. There are radios and television sets in almost every country on earth today. There are phones and more cell phones.

The life we live today is far different from the life people lived just a few centuries ago. There were no cars let alone aeroplanes. There were no trains just horses and carriages. There were no machine guns and atomic bombs just swords, arrows and spears. In other words, people lived very simple lives in those days. I watched a video on youtube a few days ago and one guy said in the video that he cannot go a day without his laptop and that he cannot go a day without using the internet which shows that our lives have really been affected by the computers and the other good and bad things this age brings.

Despite all these, there are still some indigenous people left on this earth. There are still indigenous and isolated tribes in Africa, in India, even in America and in other places on earth some untouched by our ways of life. There are still a few tribes living in the jungles of Africa and in the Amazonian regions untouched by modern world but I don't know how long they will remain untouched because we are forcing our ways on them and we are trying to change their ways of lives by hunting for these isolated tribes and taking photos of them just to publish on the internet to make money and sometimes make fun of them which is very bad.

In our world today, people are shy to go naked in public places and in some cases it is a crime to go naked yet some of us hunt for these isolated tribes just to take their naked pictures and publish on the web to make money. Some of these isolated tribes are not ashamed to go naked and most of them go bare-chested with nothing on except maybe tiny pieces of clothes covering their genital parts. We are forcing our ways on them so in a few years to come they will be living just like us. They will be shy to go naked but they will see their naked pictures all over the internet.

There was a documentary on cnn about the isolated tribes in Papua New Guinea who used to be isolated but now being touched by modern world. According to the video, although there were ethnic conflicts in those days, these isolated tribes in Papua New Guinea used to fight with bows and arrows which resulted in less casualties and a few deaths. These days, these isolated tribes fight with powerful guns which result in more casualties and more deaths. There is a similar problem in Africa too.

Although our lives have been affected in some good ways, I think our lives have also been affected in some very bad ways which we shouldn't force on the indigenous tribes. We must leave these people alone to live their natural lives. If we don't stop hunting for these tribes and forcing our ways of living on them, most if not all of these tribes and cultures will disappear within a few decades to come. What do you think?

Kofi, what do I think? No one else that I know throughout the ages has ever been able to stop time. If time stopped everything would remain the same. To dream is to live in a world that has been or is not real. Nothing wrong with a dream for that is what gives us hope. Without hope life would be unbearable.

So Kofi dream on and never lose hope.

The illegal and large scale logging activities in the Brazilian Amazonia impoverishes the amazonia and its inhabitants and must be stopped. The deforestation and illegal charcoal activities in the amazonia is getting too much. let us all come together and help save the amazonian forest and its inhabitants for future generations.

Quote: "large scale logging activities in the Brazilian Amazonia impoverishes the amazonia".

It is because of stupid statements like this that stupidity spouting out stupid statements of stupidity like this brings out all the stupid stupidity in folk that use their head only for the manufacture of stupidity.

Logging activities do not impoverish. People are impoverished and that is the reason they log, to get out of poverty.

Talk about the cart before the horse? Fix the people and then you will save the amazonian forest and its inhabitants for future generations. Get rid of stupidity and it will be a good start on a beginning to fix many problems of man. I think a good start would be to meditate on the above quote.

I doubt if there still exists a primitive group untouched by modern life.

some uncontacted tribes in the amazon die after first contact because of the introduction of our diseases such as malaria which the uncontacted tribes have no immunity against. we kill them on first contact without using weapons but by introducing foreign diseases.
