Default Politics in the Philippines - Corruption, Power and Money

Politics in the Philippines is something to put one's mind into chaos and into extreme headaches. Like a domino effect, everybody in the government position is prone to being influenced by how the pillar acts and behaves in no time. Corruption of the president today would be the corruption of the rest tomorrow. Loyalty is on question, dignity is gambled, patriotism is vague and security is at risk. All because of power, all because of money.

I do agree with what you said. Politics here in the Philippines is very dirty and not to mention there are a lot of corrupt officials and most of them are the traditional politicians so to say. It has become a fad here in the Philippines that when one member of the family becomes a politician every generation in the family should follow and one thing more that irritates me is that showbiz icon are also going into politics.

This wont surprise anyone anymore that even one who haven't been in the Philippines can tell how bad these politicians had scribbled the entire Philippines.

It even came across in my mind that the time of Marcos is much better than now. Estrada's time was good - he didnt connect with this Foriegn countries.
He haven't signed any agreement that these troops are going to stay long.
He never negotiates with this kidnappers [abu sayaf] in solo. He executes war to them till the end. and i like that.

Glora Arroyo love money and power especially. This cha-cha thing don't really give us good at all in fact she just want this so she'll have this immunity and not be in prison and all.

You wouldn't want to hear news on the television because of the politics in the Philippines. If i just don't love my country, I'd rather be in somewhere in the freezing North.

Cory was THE one meant to be The President instead of Ninoy! Mar Roxas, the next!?

Contrary to the common view, it was not Ninoy who was meant to be the Philippine President, while his wife, Cory, only his reluctant substitute. It was actually her, Corazon Sumulong Cojuanco, who was destined to be the President afterall. Let me explain why.

All Philippine Presidents after Marcos had some connection with a past President: Ramos was Marcos' cousin; Erap's brother was a classmate of Ramos and it was said that Erap ocassionally visited Ramos's house as a child (that's why he had a temporary visit to Malacanang!); Gloria, of course, is a daugther of a former President. So how about Cory?

Cory's grandfather, Juan Sumulong, ran as the Vice-President candidate under Aguinaldo for the first commonwealth Presidential election, while Aguinaldo himself ran for President against Quezon. Sumulong then ran for THE PRESIDENT against re-electionist Quezon but it was reported that he got sick during that period and died after the election. Therefore, it was fate that brought his granddaughter Cory to continue where he left of. In other words, contrary to common view, Ninoy was just a sacrificial lamb necessary to propel his highly reluctant wife to fulfill her destiny, to be the President of the Philippines.

In the same token, I've come up with some strange and curios discoveries and analysis that strongly tend to indicate Mar Roxas - who has not yet chosen his Vice President candidate and who currently stand only at around 4 to 5th place in most surveys - to BE the next President. But I cannot reveal them until after the election so as not to disrupt the natural scheme of things...
