People ignorant of the problems in developing countries?

Is it just me, or are people in developed countries ignorant to the problems which other third world countries must face and deal with on a daily basis? I know that's a bit general, and yes there are MANY exceptions. But many people are aware of what is happening, but, when an opportunity comes for them to do something about it, it seems like one of those "i care, but i don't care THAT much"

In my opinion, thats because the already developed countries are the ones restricting the growth. Money, money, money. The mentality from what I witness worldwide is that if an investement isn't worth investing in, then don't do it.

I'm not condoning this, in fact, I'm against it 100%.

Spiritually, poor decisions by those who can help but won't.
Financially, we're indoctrinated not to help others unless we in turn recieve help. It's all just a matter of percentages. What percentage of corporation bosses are a**holes and what percentage go out of their way to help a developing country asides from doing the bare minimum to get positive media exposure?

Just sayin'.
