Being the world leader, America needs to understand that along with power, comes along the responsibility of handling the world matters more sensibly. When one of the member of our family becomes irrant and irresponsible, does the head of the house start a war with him? Don't we all try and persuade the concerned person to somehow fall in line? We just do not cut the bleeding finger....instead we try and heal the same. That is what the policy should aim at....Try and convince people and make the whole world a better place....FOR ALL !!! I am not surprised to hear this. Obama seemed to be a man of peace at first, but if he is against Iran's nuclear program, I think the Middle East conflict will not stop under his management. Why can't Iran has nuclear reactors? Because they are terrorists? A war against Iran will not be like the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Muslim leaders have earlier predicted that Obama is not going to change everything.

I don't think Barack Obama will ever launched another Iraq-like war following the footstep of his predecessor George Bush. As a person of calm and sobriety, I am sure he will think many many times and will exhaust all possible and creative ways of avoiding another war but still holding the world security on target.
As President of the United States, he will work for global peace but and this is a GREAT BUT -- he won't hesitate to use force as the last option. USA will never be subject to any rouge nation's whims and wishes. The big reason why Barack Obama administration will exhaust all diplomatic means and will use all possible compromises to achieve global stability is the current economic situation of the country. Right now, domestic problems are piling up everyday and this is where the pressing problems Obama got to tackle first and foremost. On the other hand, it must be clearly stated that Iran is actually the real threat to global security and it was not Iraq. In fact, USA made a very frightening mistake of going to Iraq. Right now, after Iraq got toppled, Iran find itself more powerful than ever. Now, this is the backdrop of that statement coming from the President-elect on the question of Iran. He understand well the situation. And I believe that he made the right analysis on this matter. |

There is a lot about nuclear programs that the entire world needs to be made aware of, and be prepared for. I think Obama is going about this the right way though, making it clear to all countries involved that there needs to be guidelines and everyone has to be ready to abide by them.
I do not wish to see our country get dragged into another war, but I would rather see it happen for valid reasons than something that is being made up or a problem that the American people are being told exists when it really doesn't. In the end though, I would like to give the President Elect the chance to be sworn in before we go off deciding what he is and isn't going to do for ourselves. |

Ah come on, the one thing that brought many of Obama's earliest supporters on board -- ya know, the real policy wonks was the fact that Obama understood that Iran isn't an immediate threat -- Pakistan is where Obama will look to because it's unstable and THEY ALREADY HAVE nuclear weapons-- don't look for a war, but I suspect you'll see some military action there sometime next year

A war with Iran is not a possibility. First of all Barack Obama is not the type who will rush to a war like George Bush. Secondly, American military is way too much over stretched by its engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan to engage in another war. It is not feasible until America get out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
