Default Mexican drug violence and drug-related deaths

I read a thread here sometime ago about the drug-related deaths in Mexico but forgot about it. I thought the problem was over because I don't hear much about it these days but I just read a shocking article on CNN about the drug violence in Mexico today. In that article, a 10 year old boy laid shot dead by the street.

According to the article, the drug-related conflict in Mexico has gotten worse with at least 41 confirmed deaths(in just one town) in just 4 days.

The problem is nationwide so if there are 41 deaths in just one town, you can imagine the number of deaths per day with all the towns and villages combined. At first I thought only Africans suffer from the mad-dog disease but now I know it is a global problem. In fact it appears worse in some places. The mad-dog disease is such a horrible disease in itself and the drug supply in Mexico is making the situation even worse.

The numbers I saw on CNN represent the reported deaths but I also read that the government has discovered several mass graves in Mexico which suggests several of these drug-related deaths go unreported.

I may be wrong but Mexico is very close to the USA so why isn't the U.S helping? About 3000 drug-related deaths a year in just one town is quite a number so why isn't the UN helping? this is not a civil war but 41 deaths in just one town is too much. If the U.S could go all the way to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight terrorist then why doesn't the U.S help Mexico in eliminating these drug-bastards from their backyard? Is it because Mexico has no oil to offer?

Also, I have heard the huge influx of illegal Mexican immigrants into the U.S.A and one major reason could be they(the poor Mexicans) are running away from the violence which implies as long as the drug-war continues in Mexico, more and more illegal Mexican immigrants will pour in which in one way or the other is going to affect the U.S economy because most of these poor immigrants can't even speak the English language let alone helping the economy. Also, it is possible those drug cartels export some of their drugs to the United States to make money because I don't think they can make all these money they spend on guns and ammunition in Mexico alone.

What I am trying to say is that, those drug cartels affect America even more than the terrorists in Afghanistan so in my opinion, it would be better for the U.S to start clearing its backyard first before going outside to fight terrorists.

What do you think?
