Major Problems Facing the World Today

as much as alot of you people would like to act as if you know the solutions to everything...you dont. If you think you know everything and anything then go fix it all. yeah, not so easy. Only god can fix the issues occurring in our world today and all we have to do is work for him and be his voice and hands

From what I've read online, no where in the bible does it mention the word 'abortion', therefore god has no opinion on it. Illegal abortions are a terrible thing and shouldn't ever happen unless the life of the fetus or the mother is at risk. But taking a pill to detach some cells from the lining of your uterus? Getting some cells suctioned out? It's not even living so why is it an awful thing to do?

Someone does not 'choose' to be homosexual or bisexual, just as someone does not choose to have green eyes or blue eyes. It' just who they are, how could you judge them on that?

Profanity is bad I agree, because it's disrespectful. As is adultery. Adultery is a horrible thing to do. But premarital sex? For some people who aren't religious, they don't see much reason to get married when they're in a long term relationship. For me, being married is simply something that shows on your records that you got married and it's just a law thing.

Also is it not a sin to desire to be like god? And is it not god's job and his alone to judge people on their sins, and to give forgiveness? Are you not judging people and attemping to play his role?

And lastly, 'love thy neighbour'? What if your neighbour just killed or raped your young daughter or sister? And you say about hating your own brothers or sisters, what if they murdered your parents? Are you going to love them still?

The topic we're discussing is the major problems facing the world today, right?
And since we're living in a same planet, the problems or facts we're facing are not different.
So don't deviate it (the topic) from general to personal because this isn’t about religious issue or national dispute.
So, "What are the major problems facing the world today?"
They are, in my opinion, we-people.
We create the world into this and that.
We make it in crisis. We turn it into global village. We make riots. We design nuclear weapons. We involve in wars. We, we, we, and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
And soon we'll transfer it into wasteland. There is no one to blame, but us.
However, there are also us who are trying to repair this world.
In order to nourish it, we live against wars, try to reduce poverty, do charities, use recycle products, and avoid using things which can harm it (for example, plastic materials).
Those are some of the things we can do to change our world, but very few of us practices these activities.
Most of us ignore them excusing that they can never be possible.
Hey, nothing is impossible, and be remember that we create the world into today-world.
And, when it comes down Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and so on will equally suffer.
So together we shall reconstruct our environment.

excuse my vague understanding and opinion:
it's true that our relationships with others influence greatly on the community, however, although we build up very harmonious relationships with others on the surface, problem still happens, and it's simply simply because we are fake. we are all selfish people, it's part of the nature that we all want to gain some sort of benefits when we delicate our time and energy to doing something, and it shouldn't be a shame to admit it, but the fact that we just can't accept this kind of nature and try to hide it so to seem like we are generous eventually poses problems, when things don't turn out to be as beneficial as we expected, arguments etc start to happen.

when we see people talking about poverty, talking about kids in poverty living without education or without toy, and naturally assuming them are living a life without happiness, and then we act all generous donating money to help them, being in place to understand them, i wouldn't call all these fake but still, how do we know of their standard of happiness and how do we know they really really really need out help, i mean really?
think about how we have been poses our happiness on their pain, taking away their ordinary life, destroying their habitat, and abusing these power to make those things that they will never see or hear of in their life time, i think they will hate us more than needing of our help, so save the sympathy, its not how we need to change them, or their place and giving them a better living, its about us, its about how we should redefine what is meant by a better living. we are in panic when we reach out to help those so called 'poor' because we cannot admit to ourselves how problematic and screwed up we are, and money is the only thing we are left with so donating money and building them shelter is just so much easier than changing ourselves to adapt to a lower satisfaction of living, and no matter how much money we have we are never able to transform the world back to how it was before.
Im reminded by one of the line in Severn Suzuki's speech: if you don't have the ability to fix it, do not break it.
we have all became too lazy to make a change in ourselves and sadly we have to admit this too. everything is easier said than done, even having a little honesty is too hard... how ridiculous?

what the world needs now is love but love is not something you can force people to do. so there will always be problems in the world.

A few hundred greedy millionaires in developed countries now own as much wealth as the world’s poorest 2.5 billion people. More than Half of the world over three billion people live on less than two dollars a day. As long as those few hundred greedy bastards remain in this world, there will always be poverty and hunger.

the most self evident concept ofcourse is the inherent evil nature of man.

Racism and discrimination and the blaming of others for our misfortunes. Whites blame blacks. Blacks blame whites. why can't we all live together as one people?.

Another major problem has to do with the rising prison population and the way we rehabilitate the inmates.

The unnecessary wars, the rising costs of healthcare and of course the corporate media silencing the truth.

True, people are not educated anymore, the morals are gone, people are not people anymore, they have become machines that are being used by a certain system that is based on gain of money and selfinterest.
The problem is also the silence and the "i'm doing nothing" attitude of the good people and the yells of the bad people. And what is getting all the attention : the bad people, the media plays a big role in our education and they are educating us wrongly!

I'm quite surprised no one mentioned the coporate media. the corporate media is the number one threat to democracy, peace and stability. Here is a quote by David Barsamian a journalist and publisher.

"One of the intentions of corporate-controlled media is to instill in people a sense of disempowerment, of immobilization and paralysis. Its outcome is to turn you into good consumers. It is to keep people isolated, to feel that there is no possibility for social change.

That is exactly what the coporate media does. The corporate media distorts reality and turns people into robots and working-machines. There is nothing like free press. you hear only what they want you to hear and see only what they want you to see. we are like their properties.

what if people wake up to reality? what if people come back to their senses? what if people come to realize this life is very short? what if people come to realize we are all human beings? what if people wake up one day and realize love is the most important gift our maker gave us?

let god destroy the whole world so life starts afresh.

I see six things posted as problems with the world today. However these six things are not the problem but the result of the problem. There is not six problems but only one problem. If that problem was eliminated then the six results of the problem would not exist. We could say eliminate man from the earth and no more problem but that would not be true for the real problem would still exist but no one to exercise it. So what is the core problem?

The problem is the judgement of the life of man. The judgement of man will be on the good or evil done in a man's lifetime. So the real problem lies in the good or evil that a man chooses to do in his lifetime. Choose good and there is none of the six problems that is listed. Choose evil and the problems jump at once into existence. The reason is very apparent why evil cannot be eliminated while man occupies the earth. God's judgement of man's lifespan on earth is based on the good or evil chosen by the person. Take away evil or good and God would have nothing to judge the character or worth of a person on. Take away good or evil and a mans conscience would be of no use. Take away good or evil and all men would be the same. What a mundane world that would be.

So to sum the thought. The cause of the six results mentioned is the choosing of man to do good or evil. To choose good results in good. To choose evil results in evil. To choose some good and some evil results in a hypocrite. One that cannot be trusted for you don't know what you are dealing with at any one time. The worse and most detested of all mankind. Even God says he will puke that person out of his mouth.

it all depends on how you view the problem. some problems are not problems at all to others.
