This world of ours is full of sorrows. This world of ours is full of pain and suffering. We all know of the huge taxes and the death penalty but those are not the only problems facing the world today.

Problems facing the world today are almost uncountable. There are many more problems facing the world today than you can ever think of. Nobody is safe in this cruel world of ours. Not even tiny little babies and poor innocent toddlers.

I have lived in poverty all my life so I know poverty very well. I am not knew to tribal conflicts because they are very common in Africa. My friend died a few years ago from HIV so HIV and AIDS are not new to me. Corruption is very rampant in Africa today so corruption is very familiar to me.

I have read several stories about racism and discrimination in most western countries especially in America. I have also read several stories about racism and discrimination in South Africa, in Brazil, and even in India.

Anytime I search cnn for world news, someone is in trouble. Anytime I search bbc for world news, someone is in pain. This world of ours is full of problems. Our problems are almost uncountable and they keep coming every second of the day, every minute of the day and every hour of the day. Think About Abortion and the killing of tiny little innocent babies.

Think about the hundreds of thousands of people dying each and everyday.
Think about the war in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the killing of innocent people especially women and children in Darfur and around the world. Think about all the child labor and child abuse cases around the world

Think about the poverty and hunger even in America. people are dying in Africa just because they can't get something to eat. People are dying in India and other parts of the world just because they cannot get something to eat.

Think about HIV/AIDS and the killing of human beings in record numbers. People continue to die from HIV and AIDS in record numbers even though there are anti-retroviral drugs available.

HIV/AIDS continue to tear Africa into pieces. In the news, about 40% of pregnant women in South Africa are HIV positive which implies a new generation of HIV patients. Not just in Africa. HIV/AIDS continue to tear India apart. HIV/AIDS continue to destroy families and homes and some people especially teens, do not seem to care. Think about all the injustice we face in this cruel world.

But who is to blame? What do you think are some of the major problems or challenges facing the world today? What are some of the things we can do as human beings to change this our world?

I think the major problem facing the world today is ignorance and stupidity. Even though people are fooling, they still consider themselves wise people. People do not think twice these days. Everything is one way and that I think is the major problem facing the world today. People must begin thinking and reasoning as human beings if we want this world to be a better place. Don't go and preach about the kingdom of God in the church and then go and molest a kid sexually the next day. You are telling people to stop smoking but you are a smoker yourself. Doctors who teach people about the harmful effects of cigarettes are the same people smoking 2 and 3 packs a day. Stupidity and ignorance are two major problems facing the world today in my opinion.

I agree man. What happened to the saying "Practice what you preach". But i also believe nowadays people like to give their opinions without listening to others. I must admit i do fall into this ocassionally. It's like those people that like hearing themselves talk but when it's their turn to listen they switch off. Everyone's trying to convince everyone else that their right. I have my own views, but when i see a good argument it makes me reassess those views.
Where's the good debate, stimulating arguments, and for that matter, where the heck is everyone!

poverty and hunger is very true and it is a major world problem. Poverty in Africa is an example. Poverty in India is an example. Poverty in America is an example and poverty in Europe is also an example. Hunger around the world isn't just in theory. we are all witnesses. War around the world is also true. War in Iraq. Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an example. The Darfur genocide is also an example and we are all witnesses.
I know abortion is bad but I think women should be given the right to decide what is best for them. If a girl is raped for example, I don't see anything wrong in going for abortion for example if the girl is not ready to be a mother.
The injustice you mentioned is also true and we are all witnesses.

"practice what you preach" is a very big statement. If we all do practice what we preach then this world would have become second paradise. I remember hearing this in the news yesterday. Someone was saying "..Obama is behaving like a fake Prophet who was able to convince the entire world that he was sent by the Messiah which was all false and that Obama must do what he said he would do if he wants a second term"

The major Problem facing the world today is the lack of "LOVE". Love is what we all need. If you love your neighbor, you will not shoot him or her. If you love your neighbor you will share with him what you own instead of cheating. Love God (ALLAH) with all your heart and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. Love is what the world needs right now.

Think about world problems?! Are you kidding me? We don't have to think about them at all! We can sit back on our fat behinds, beer in hand, sandwich in the other, and have all of the world problems shoved down our throats, 24 hours per day by the media news! No, there is no need to think about them. Actually, many people are trying to forget about them. Why does the drunk drink? Why is the junkie hooked on drugs in the first place? It's because they're as miserable as crabs in a boiler. They are in agony with no escape in site!

There is not a moments peace from the world problems, Oh no! The media will not let us have that! They constantly pollute our minds with their chaotic doom and gloom. They have brain washed us into desiring a world meltdown. We have been so hate bred that we now kill each other for reasons long forgotten. The world has not changed and is in woe as it always has been. Man has always been quick to kill, without thought to his revocations.
The only difference today from 1000 years ago is this wonderful information age of ours. We can now see first hand what transpires in the world around us, while sitting in our living rooms. And the real problem is, we all like it! We come home night after night, plopping our butts into our chairs, munching on our next heart attack, and flip through the television stations to find the worst possible news story on the networks, in order to get our day's ration of chaotic stupidity. The worse the event the more glued to our cushioned coffins we become. They have us right where they want us.....think about it..

Love? Bahhh! This has nothing to do with loving our neighbors...Loving our neighbors often get us shot from a jealous partner. This is much more powerful than love. This has to do with greed and power and war mongering. It is our leaders that make these idiotic choices, not you and I.

With today's technology, there is not a reason on this god forsaken earth why we cannot farm desert areas. With hydroponic grow farms and advanced irrigation techniques we should be able to feed the entire world population, with scraps to spare.

"But wait! That costs money , CB!" you might say. Well I'll tell you young uns something, why does money even have to play a factor in this? I just know things are really screwed up with our society when we can spend billions on war efforts, yet cut funding for schools, welfare programs, and other humanitarian needs.
You know how much food could have been developed and grown for what the U.S. has spent on it's "military actions" in Iraq? Neither do I, but I can damn well tell you it is a whole lot more than has been spent. Money? What the hell is it anyway, but a glorified IOU.

There is no poor me world out there. The weak swiftly get eaten. And there is and never will be a love thy neighbor world. That only exists in fairy tales. People are far too self centered for such a thing to ever happen. But we can get along and build a better tomorrow without killing each other because your god wears a different robe than mine does.

I don't know kids, but I can say that I am tired of all the stupidity our good leaders seem to excel at! And that goes for the entire world, not just the U.S. We, as a people of the world, are a house divided. And we know what happens to those types of house...don't we? They soon fall...

So, cannot we all put our religious beliefs, and our prejudices, and our angers, and our sorrows, and lazy ways, all behind us and work at a better tomorrow? What is hard about that? Does my ass smell that bad that we cannot work together to strengthen this house and make it sturdy?

I feel for you kids, I really do. If things remain as they are, your are in for some dire straights and are going to die as miserable as I am. I'll be dead and gone, but you will have to live with the decisions that are made today. And it breaks my heart to think of the consequences that lay in store for you fine young people.

The world is full of problems today because we don't know how to love one another. Most of us don't understand the meaning of love. Love is not money and love is not fame. We must learn how to love if we want this world to be a better place.Don't steal from your neighbor. Don't kill your neighbor. Don't talk bad about your neighbor. Don't love religion more than God and don't love politics more than the truth. Love your neighbor as yourself.

I agree with CB you don't need to go sit and think about those problems before you realize they exist because they are right there infront of you. Switch on the TV or radio and the problems are everywhere. Go online and the problems are everywhere. Step outside your house for a minute or two and the problems are clear as crystal.

One major problem with the world today is that most people think they own the world and that they can do whatever pleases them which is very bad because no human person owns the world. God created this world and He owns this world and that is why it is important to follow His rules. God created this world all alone and so only God knows the best for this world. God says abortion is not good yet we humans in our limited minds think we know better although we know almost nothing. God says Homosexuality is a great sin yet people of today think they have the right to choose whether to be gay or not which is very bad. God says profanity, adultery, pre-marital sex, etc are immoral and bad yet we think we own our lives so we can do whatever pleases us which is very bad. God says love your neighbor as you love yourself yet we hate our own brothers and sisters. The solution to all these is God and good teachings. We need to come together as one people. This world is just our temporal home. Nobody lives past 150. In most cases we die before 80 yet some people think they own this world which is very bad.

If the jobless rate in the richest country in the world today is around 10% then surely there is something wrong with this world. Imagine being jobless with wife and kids to feed and huge pile of bills to pay at the end of the month. Suicide rates are very high especially among the unemployed population. The rich gets richer while the poor gets pooorer. There is something very wrong somewhere and we need to fix things before they get out of hand.

In this world everywhere there is poverty.You might not notice or even care, but it's there! About 25 thousand of people die every day of hunger and hunger related issues.Count to 3. 1, 2, 3, an innocent child just died because of poverty.We could easily solve this problem by donating money or food to donations banks because their is enough food to feed everyone in the world but the problem is that the people that are struck with poverty are to poor to afford food which is a big issue.

The number of people struck with poverty has decreased but unfortunately the chances of someone being struck with poverty has increased. Many children and their parents are separated from each other (die)and weak children parents are left alone with no one to love them, leaving them only sadness and heartbreak.it is estimated that more than 18 million people have died, of which over 3 million were children. Additionally, more than 25 million adults are currently infected which will result in the continued increase in the number of orphaned children. More than 15 million children have already been orphaned as a result of the epidemic. Another 1 million children are currently infected with the disease.

Some of the problems of poverty is that people in poor country's are that people are getting little or none of their nutrition that they need in order to be healthy like clean drinking water or, a variety of their vitamins that they need. So instead they are stuck with drinking contaminated water and any other food source that they can find.

the problems vary from place to place. In America and in most other developed countries, the only world problems people know of are terrorism, war and huge taxes. However, the world is full of problems. Go to India or Africa and people have several other problems they face on daily basis. problems such as extreme poverty and hunger. We must all come together and help one another

take wikileaks for example. this shows that this world is very fragile. you think you are safe but you are not. this world can vanish within a blink of an eye in these age of nuclear power and the internet. technology has done more harm than good already. we are just waiting for the end of it all.

The Bushism sent the world to the bush. We exchanged Bushism for Obamatics hoping the Obamatics would help the world but as we can all see the obamatics is not helping the world in anyway. Get rid of the Obamatics and pray for a true Messiah. Barack Obama is a fake Messiah full of false hopes. America deserves better, the world deserves better.

what about the breakdown of cultural and moral values across the world? Can this world survive without good moral values? Parents abuse and neglect their children. Children disrespect parents and abuse their own bodies. The internet is full of pornographic materials and nobody seems to care. I wonder what this world would be like in the next 50 years.

A guy in my biology class cheated on a midterm exam using his smart phone and got an "A". All thanks to technology for helping students cheat in classrooms. A friend of mine spent less than 20mins on his end of semester research paper. He googled his entire research paper and got an "A". All thanks to technology for helping students cheat and making students more dumb. We are more interested in technology than in nature. what a shame!

The real problem is you are looking at these conditions as problems. These are not problems. They are facts!. Yes, I said facts. It's a fact the sun will rise in the East. It's also a fact that all these things you call problems existed since Adam and Eve and will continue to the day of judgement of good and evil. All these things are facts, pure and simple.

Instead of trying to find a cure for a fact, which is an exercise in futility, for you cannot cure a fact, face the facts and deal with the facts in your own life.

If I live in a sewer I live my life wallowing in crap. That is a fact! If I walk out of that sewer I am no longer in that crap, and that also is a fact. I don't know what I am going to live in but I know for sure I will no longer live in crap. Most people love their home of crap and that is why they stay. People love their adultery so we have aids. People love narcotics so we have the result. And so forth and so forth. People love their religion so we have light and darkness, good and evil mixed together. what the world needs most is love but where can we find that love? the only source I can think of is God. God is the answer. We need to turn away from our bad ways and reconnect our lives to God.

As one poster said, we need love to guide and protect us all. without love, none of these world problems can be solved. with love all things are possible. with love there would be no corruption, no armed robbery, no war, etc. what we need to do is start preaching true love to people especially those who lack love. It seems that you don't know anything about God so don't judge people who are not really Christions. Read Jeremiah 17:10 it doesn't say anything about YOU judging people because whatever you judge about others God will judge onto you.

You are the one who needs help, you will regreat what you said when judgement day comes. And God will judge you for that.

Africa has been a laboratory of the European nuclear bombs,medicines even political policies.Africa wil never see the light f good life,peace and happy life.Sometimes i think african leaders have no mercy no heart and even no shame.We have been the subject of European and America,I think the only option is to change the whole way of thiking about different ways of developing our economies.It is no worth to invite your enemy during the war preparation.
