No, I don't that that being rich is equivalent to being happy. Some countries may be rich but its citizens may have a heavy workload, having to work from early morning to late at night without much rest or leisure time. Citizens from richer countries may also have to face a stressful and hectic lifestyle, thus may be unsatisfied with their life.

People living in rich countries (western countries) have a lot of freedom compared with the third world countries. They have much better infra structure also. Better living standards is what they find in rich countries. Happiness is an abstract concept. How do you define it? Even more difficult would be the actual process of measuring the happiness of each countries.
