The relationship between these two countries is now dependable on what the new President "Obama" has its up his sleeves.
It is a well known fact that Democrats are a lot more stricter with India than republicans and Obama has already hinted of tougher laws with regards to out-sourcing of jobs which would affect India more than any other nation. Some observers say that India-US relationship is very cordial and has gone a long way for any one person to reverse it fully. Well...I for one...definitely hope so.... !!! Regards, Walker |

I know some people are going to find this extremely offensive but this is how I feel. I feel the USA should quit allowing other nationalities into our country to open gas stations, convince stores, etc and not pay income taxes. This loophole needs to be shut down.
Further more I think American Companies that move their factories to India should be charged a tariff when bring products back to the USA. In my opinion India is killing the US Economy. |

USA invaded the Middle East saying that they are combating terrorism, helping to stabilize the religion, weapon of mass destruction, and other lies under George Bush. Today, Obama is the President but does he have the power to stop the military? Not really. India on the other hand is still underdeveloped and will focus on their country first instead of helping the world. |

Why don't you run the gas stations and convenience stores on your own Chris? You know that it is way too risky as robbers will be looking for a target always. Now the Indian people get these stores and run them as they need money to feed their family. Americans are able to fill up their cars at any hour as the Indians are willing to run these stores risking their life. You should be thankful to them for this, chris!! |

Well, there really is no point in arguing that out. Both Americans and Indians have dangerous and difficult jobs to sustain. We just hope that the relationship between these two nations, one an already developed and modernize nation and the other a developing nation, would go strong from just being cordial.. All countries can't live by themselves alone, in one way or the other, they would need assistance from other nations. And for peace to prevail, we need to be considerate to each of the countries capacities and how both could gain from it.

I actually agree with you to a degree, but I worry about the current American and British, and Canadian deaths and hostages in Mumbai is going to cause a lot of tension, and make many Westerners unwilling to travel to India, even though it is no way a reflection to the country or people.
In fact, I see a lot of tourism suffering as attacks like this increase and spread across the world. Here in the US there is worry as well. Plans to attack Subways have been leaked in New York City, something that has happened, and has been long awaited for years. |

I don't know about the brotherhood thing, because America give them a low salary and now Indian people are all over the internet, offering some expert employees with the lowest price you can ever find. They can bring prosperity, but they will be rivals in some ways. I like to work with Indian people because they are smart and fast.

America and India may have some part to play but i don't think it will be just them or because they have a good relationship. America will of course have an influence in anything because it is huge and a super power, India more because of it's location. But you can't forget the EU and the many other countries that have small voices but together can make changes.

Well, I am neither an Indian nor an American but I like the way the Indians in USA are helping their country in both technology and building relationships. As much as i know the internet works and outsourcing of India was primarily spread by the Indian in USA. Indians are smart and the wage rate is low. So, its a great place for the USA. Actually, developing countries like India , Pakistan and Bangladesh are all countries of great possibilities which can develop with a little help from the developed countries like the USA.

I have not yet once seen either of them agree, nor mention "joining hands".
Regardless of how much I may appreciate your enthusiasm, it's barely realistic. Perhaps with a new president running our country we will then have such a nice opportunity to join with India ? |

India and USA have a big part to play in the future especially with the nuclear deal which enables both the nations to utilize nuclear energy for the production of electricity. but there are many other things also;
India has also favored global peace and so is America. both are against terrorism. both are dependent on each other for many things in a way of import and export thus maintaining good relation is beneficial to both and even to world |

I am actually surprised to find some negative thoughts on outsourcing to India. If US does outsourcing to India, its for his own good. If you can get quality services for lesser price, why would you not out source to India or any other country?
Think as if you are a CEO of a huge company, if you can save millions of $s by outsourcing would you not do it? This will bring down the cost of your product/services to US population who uses them and thus they are also benefited. Its in mutual benefit. India gets foreign currency and employment. If you say that unemployment in US is increasing, if the unemployed persons make their services available at Indian rates, would a US company not hire them? In a competitive world you have to have either cost advantage or technology advantage. If you have none, i think you should remain unemployed. |

In USA most of the students in their colleges are Indian and same is the case with respect to Industries and companies too. As we all know that democrats are more strict than the republicans and moreover Obama has also implied harder laws as for the externalization of work which would affect India mostly.
