Humanity has lost it's way - What are human beings?

I realize that this sounds like a strange subject header for an article, but it is appropriate for what I am about to write. Humanity has lost it's way, our definitions of self have become shallow, and we have identified ourselves with an illusion.

When people ask us who we are, we usually tell them our name, our occupation, our role in life (eg. housewife, mother, father..etc), our address...etc. Yet all of these things are labels, they are language used to identify our physical being and the role our mind plays in society. These are the transient things in life that do not tell us who we are, but what we do.

So, who are we really?

In showing what we are not, we can begin to understand what we are. We are not a mere organism, we are what's left once all man-made labels have been stripped away.

God's name is Yahweh, which means 'I am'. God made man in his own image, not physically, but spiritually. In other words, 'we are', we exist. We are energy, each of us a tiny fragment of God, he created us via himself and we are a part of him.

In our quest to define ourselves, we forgot our true identity as the people of God. We became so hung up on making our mark and being somebody, that we forgot that we are already somebody.... we are. We forgot our state of beingness, of living in the present moment and accepting all that is.

This forgetfulness lead to us hating our fellow man, because we forgot that when we harm another, we harm ourselves because we are all a part of the greater whole. We listened to our minds, not our true selves.

Our mind is a useful tool to think with, it helps us to unlock the secrets of science and technology, but if we forget the rightful place of our minds we lose our identity and the science we discover gets used for war. Our minds are meant to be subservient to our spirit... our beingness... our oneness with God.

Our minds were the creator of evil ideologies, the creator of strife within our workplaces and our relationships, our minds were the creators of 'religions' which seperate us from God. We are not our minds.... WE ARE.

Remember this, and understand this, and you will be set free.

I'm glad this view satisfies what YOU believe WE ARE. It's not unreasonable to apply views that make each one of use more comfortable. But it's still only your opinion. No sorry, i suppose millions would agree with you based on the religious aspect. But there are also millions who would disagree, and i for one. I would be of the darwinian persuasion.
But different views create debate, and debate is good.
