How to Help the Poor Children in Poor Countries ?

I am totally new to this forum and would like to have some serious comments on how we can help the poor needy children from countries like Africa.

There are thousands of children homeless, without food and water. and also with no parent to look after. Is there any way we can bring down children like these and raise them ? Can anyone give me some good suggestion ?

It is good to care about others and God bless you for caring. I am an African and I always correct people on this. Most people think Africa is just a country but Africa is not. Africa is a very big continent with over 53 different countries and each country has its own culture and traditions. I know you've heard about Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Morocco, and maybe my country Ghana, Nigeria and others. All these countries are in Africa. Even George Bush once referred to Africa as a country when he was president of America but he later corrected it.

Back to your question. There are so many ways you can help. If you have the time and money and what it takes, you can go see things for yourself and see what you can do to help the poor. Going into direct with the poor is the best way you can help because you help them directly. You can also donate to charity organizations like UNICEF, feed the children, word vision, and a whole lot of other charities out there.

The reason why I said coming into contact with the poor is the best way you can help is that, sometimes the money you donate to some of these charity organizations do not reach the poor. You donate but only a very small fraction reaches the poor because some of these charities pay their workers huge salaries and all come from your donations so at the end of the day, the poor gets almost nothing out of your donations. UNICEF is a very great organization and it is doing great in some countries in Africa and other places like India but do you know that the CEO of UNICEF makes not less than 2 million dollars every year? that is just one person's pay and all come from your donations. Even if UNICEF does this then you can imagine the others. I am not discouraging you from donating but that is the truth.

yes of course. Adopting a poor child and giving that child a better future is one of the best ways you can help a poor child. You can adopt a child from any country in Africa but there is a process you must follow and also not everybody can adopt a child from Africa. Every country in Africa has their own procedures.
