Help Cancer Patients - Help Fight Cancer

I have read most Global issues -- it mostly talk about AIDS when it comes to diseases. How about Cancer? Someone close had died from it and I can tell it is really helpless and hopeless when it is happening to that person. Same goes to the person taking care of him. Why not, it be made a bigger topic to discuss about for example; types of Cancer and the ways of helping them. We may become creative and there always can be some way to help besides money, although that is mostly needed when it comes to disease like this.

You are right to indicate that cancer as disease requires a huge slum of money for proper treatment. The worst thing about it is that it is often diagnosed when on last stage. In very rare cases it has been caught in the first initial stage.

At least people know the meaning of cancer in America and in other developed countries. I know of a family friend who is attending college in Africa but doesn't even know that cancer can kill and that cancer is as deadly as HIV/AIDS. Not that Africa is a cancer-free zone. People die for no reason in Africa and people die without knowing what was wrong with them. Cancer kills in Africa but the problem is that people don't even know the fact that cancer kills besides HIV/AIDs and malaria. At least the cancer patients in America know that they are suffering from cancer and take the necessary precautions in the fight against cancer but this isn't the case in Africa. People die for no reason. People die without knowing the cause. That is very sad and Africa has a long way to go. India has the same problem and people die for no reason in India. Not just India and Africa but this is the story in almost all the developing countries. People die for no reason at all. People die without knowing what killed them. Cancer kills. Nobody knows when and how so let us try to help one another. Let us give helping hands to those fighting cancer and let us teach others about cancer and how to avoid or treat cancer before it gets out of hand.

What Is Cancer?

Throughout our lives, healthy cells in our bodies divide and replace themselves in a controlled fashion. Cancer starts when a cell is somehow altered so that it multiplies out of control. A tumor is a mass composed of a cluster of such abnormal cells.

Usually, the medication for cancer is very costly; I wonder if that can be changed so that it can be lowered in a way it can be affordable for everybody. One of the reasons I have come to think about is; may it be because of the research costs that are so extensive and long (labor costs for researchers) and that is why the treatment is so high?

I wonder if there is a way that this can be changed.

You are right. the medication for cancer is really costly and only few people can afford it. I wanted to go for a screening test but even that, I couldn't afford to pay.
