Health Reform in the U.S. Gonna Happen?

It's unbelievable how much resistance Health reform is getting in the U.S.
All Western countries have some sort of national health care system that is open to all citizens of that country. Which basically means health of citizens outway how much money you have. "The government for the people by the people." Eh? Really. If this were true, a society like this would have no trouble with a concept such as a national health care system.
Lets be real and honest. The reason for such opposition is because the current system supports pharmaceutical and insurance companies making profits. They control the current system, and so dictate the price of health for one. They dictate the price of drugs you may need for two. Huge profits. And a very powerful Lobby are inlisting senators against such reform. Spending millions on advertisements scaring Americans into thinking that such reform is disguised as creeping communist socialism.
You have to give it to them. They are clever. But it saddens me that they can fool Americans against something so beneficial to themselves.
I'm Irish and have access to British television. British TV is as domestic to us as our own television. British television are amazed that these lobbying groups are convincing American people that under a national health care system, it would result in doctors deciding not to treat certain patients resulting in death of that patient. They use Britain as an example of such a system. The British are amazed at what these groups are saying since no such system exists there.
I hope, i really do, that these bloody profit driven, greedy leaches are turfed out and a new national health care system established. Then the statement "A government for the people by the people" might become a little more believable than it is now.

Even if it is a communist idea, what is wrong with that? Major part of The Communist system doesn't work practically but that doesn't mean there is nothing good about the communist system. What is wrong with the government working hard to provide health care for all citizens? Do you know how many people die each and every day because they couldn't afford to pay for treatment? Those who are saying that this system isn't good are money lovers who are interested in profit and more profit and nothing but profit. These people don't consider the number of people dying each and every day because they couldn't afford to pay for treatment. You are right. they oppose this idea not because it is a bad idea just that they want more profit and don't care much about their poor fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters

I'm glad you agree Kofi. And i agree that communism is not "Evil" like a lot of American Bigwigs would like Americans to believe. But unfortunately they seem to have convinced them it is!

This health reform thing is driving people crazy. There is a video on youtube "From Hope to Doom". This video tells you all about Barack Obama and what makes him such a failure. The private health system in the United States right now isn't beneficial to most people but for government to take over will be worse and there are many examples to show. Yes it will happen but that will put America in much more trouble.

Honestly I consider Obama as a fake Messiah. look at the financial crises. Look at the unemployment rates. Look at the poverty and hunger level. If Obama can't handle our financial crises and other such economic problems then why should we trust Obama with our lives? Obama wants to take care of our health problems yet he can't even propose a better plan to deal with the unemployment rate. Once again, America has made a mistake. Once again, America has chosen the wrong person.

Today on yahoo news, some protesters were carrying riffles and were ready to shoot Obama for trying to provide free health care for all. It is so sad.

I think the death of Tedd Kennedy might boost this idea somehow because so many people love Kennedy and Kennedy was a great supporter of this idea. this will cause the many who love Kennedy to support this health reform plan in order to add it to Kennedy's accomplishments. In anyways, I don't support Obama's health reform

the health care battle is almost over. Obama will sign the bill into law come this Tuesday. According to Obama, this reform package will provide insurance for the 13 million uninsured citizens in America. However, republicans think this health reform bill will do more harm than good to Americans and America as a country.

This health reform bill provides insurance for the 13 million uninsured citizens in America. My question here is, What about the millions of Illegal Immigrants living in the United States?
