Does it ever scare you to think about the way the world is today?

Does it ever scare you to think about the way the world is today? For instance, do you ever get worried about the type of people that your children will be growing up to be exposed to? I do. It seems like people just aren't like they used to be when I was growing up. As time goes on more people are so selfish and basically don't care what they do to others in order to benefit themselves. Sometimes this is so scary to me, that I'd like to keep my children with me for the rest of our lives. But, that is not fair to them because there would be many life experiences they would be missing out on. I guess this is where Faith and Prayer will play a part in our lives more and more as they grow up.

What you are feeling is just normal for a parent because they love their children. My grandparents and parents used to say the same word on me when I was younger. You can’t do anything to stop it; all you can do is to guide your child and to teach her/him not to socialize with the wrong kind of people.

We're social animals & we've to adjust ourselves in this society.Definitely,there is changes in the thoughts of people & slowly we've to adjsut with it.We mustn't bother about what others are,instead we should be good for others.

I think you may be right there suvan. In a sense if we are good to others they should be good to us. However, there are those out there that are so vindictive that it doesn't matter how well you treat them, they are determined to hurt and decieve. These are the ones that I worry about.

I don't have children, but I do worry about what may happen when I do and when they get older. It's not the same world is use to be, but at the same time was the world ever really a safe place. If you look back on history there were always threats to people, we just hear about them more because of technology.

It is a scary thought where kids are concerned especially after you watch all the negative changes that have taken place over the last decade or so. Hopefully, there will be some more positive and beneficial changes made over the course of the next decade that will help balance things out.

Yes, it is scary! When I think of how so much goes on in the middle schools and high schools now that didn't go on when I was there, I cringe! My son is starting high school this year and I have to admit I pray all the time that he won't get in with the wrong crowd. My little girl is only going into 1st grade and I really cringe to think of what it will be like by the time she gets to middle school and high school.

The world doesn't frighten as much as the insistence that our children aren't capable of growing within it and dealing with it.

We hobble them when we don't teach them how to protect themselves, and how to fight for themselves.

We should not worry about the present world condition looking at it through the eyes of the past.

The world keeps moving in adapting new cultures and habits and so it is not correct to keep comparing the present with the past.

Change is the basic essence of the world and hence....human beings too have to keep changing adapting with the change.

And so also our society changes....our living habits changes and so do our attitudes towards everything....

If the world is getting a lot wilder and aggressive, do not worry for our kids....They would adapt to live amongst them quickly and would change as per their surroundings. So...stop being very protective about them....Instead let them face the world..the way it is....That would be good for them...in the long run...Trust me !!!

Don't worry too much.

Its natural for parents to worry about their children and be protective of them and want the best for their children. But don't worry too much about them. I'm sure they will be able to grow, learn and adapt to their environment and the situations they meet in their life.

So just teach them the right thing, right values and guide them in their lives when they need it. I'm sure they'll do fine.

As a parent you have your concern for your child, not alone you. every parent has concern for their child so its the nature of a parent and hence no need to worry about it. As a parent you can always have a check on your child i.e how his/her friends are, what he/she is up to. also you should give them privacy. As they grow up they will know how to behave in a society so no worries be happy...

People are of different nature. There are some wackos among them too. Pedophiles and sexual predators are examples of this. But they are nothing new. They have been in existence from prehistoric times. Only thing is that the news media is all around you now and hence they can provide you with regular updates of any unfortunate incidents as and when they are happening.
